Bearded stage and screen character actor. Best known, from the 1950's, for his prolific voice-over work. Among others, he dubbed for actors Jack McGowran, John Fiedler, John Carradine, Alan Napier and Billy Bevan.

The actor Knut Hartwig didn't belong to the great movie stars. He rather distinguished with support roles full of character.

After the war his engagements decreased.
