Attended high school at The Pinecrest School, an elite private prep school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.

His first performed play was "Mary," about Mary, Queen of Scots, and was produced and performed in 1967 at Parker Playhouse in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.

His first Broadway production was ''Via Galactica,'' a 1972 science-fiction rock musical that Mr. Gore wrote with Judith Ross and Galt MacDermot. Unfortunately, the musical closed after only four days.

He started writing plays and musicals soon after graduating from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, USA (about 35 minutes north of downtown Chicago).
