The parents of Rob Lowe's former nanny fear the 24-year-old will struggle to cope with the fuss following her sexual harassment claims against the actor.

Jessica Gibson filed a lawsuit in California on Monday alleging Lowe placed his hand inside her "pants in order to touch her crotch" and "grabbed Gibson's buttocks without consent" several times between September 2005 to January 2008.

Gibson also alleges Lowe repeatedly exposed his penis to her, as well as frequently asking her "to touch his penis."

Lowe counters that Gibson made up the allegations in an extortion scheme.

And now Gibson's mother and father are speaking out about the controversy.

He dad, Jim, tells People magazine, "She felt being a nanny was perfect for her. She liked it."

Jim Gibson, 63, admits he felt his daughter worked "ridiculous hours" for the Lowes, adding, "I was shocked when I heard about everything. I worry about her capability to cope with things."

The former nanny's mother, Eileen, calls her daughter "very compassionate, very caring and honest," adding, "She's very gentle and kind and values her family very much."

Eileen, a teacher, admits she was stunned by her daughter's claims because Jessica was "absolutely discreet" about her job, and never discussed her work.
