Brighton Sharbino in Trailer for Post-emp Survival Thriller 'Radioflash'
"This is the real deal. The clock is ticking. You gotta get moving." IFC Midnight has unveiled a trailer for a survival thriller titled Radioflash, marking the feature directional debut of a filmmaker / artist named Ben McPherson. When a device releases an electromagnetic pulse that kills the power for more than 200 million people, a teenage girl must help lead her family to survival in a dark new world. They seek refuge with her doomsday-prepper grandfather who lives deep in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, but also discover there's something else there. Starring Brighton Sharbino as Reese, Dominic Monaghan, Will Patton, Fionnula Flanagan, Miles Anderson, Michael Filipowich, Kyle Collin, Sean Cook, and Arden Myrin. This looks like it could be good, but also could be pretty bad, based on the way this trailer plays out. Here's the first official trailer (+ posters) for Ben McPherson's Radioflash, direct from IFC's YouTube...

(Aotn)- Ok, Smt Heads, you’ve been chomping at the bit for a new take on zombies. Fortunately, the zombie makers have heard your plea…. Check out our conversation with Brittany (and our nifty, new Aotn graphics) right here:

It Stains The Sands Red

‘American Exorcism’ VOD Review
Stars: Michael Filipowich, Kate Tumanova, William McKinney, Jessica Morris, Jennifer Lee Wiggins, Braxton Davis, Sicily Fontaine, John Paul Sales, Luke Wright | Written and Directed by Tripp Weathers

Retired demon wrangler Damon Richter is pulled back into the game when his estranged daughter is possessed by the spirit responsible for destroying his life and family. Together with his ex-priest pal, the bearded, tattooed beach bum sets about putting his own supernatural abilities to good use. That is, of course, when he isn’t busy posing moodily and glowering from beneath his impressive beard, like an over-filtered Instagram celebrity.

Of all the horror subgenres, few lend themselves to low budget quite like the exorcism movie. Sure, there’s room for all the fancy special effects, pea soup and levitating demons that money can buy, but all you really need to make it work is a bed, some chains and a profanity-laced script.

‘Hide and Seek’ DVD Review
Stars: Rachel Dipillo, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Samuel Larsen, James Landry Hébert, Sandy Valles, Alex Shaffer, Michael Filipowich, Joey Abril, Juliana A. Morgan | Written by Darrell Wheat, Kyle Arrington | Directed by Darrell Wheat

Originally titled Recovery (which makes sense given that a key plot point in the film involves recovering a phone), Hide and Seek is one of those movies that made a splash online when first announced and then seemigly died a death – sneaking out onto DVD and VOD this week without any fanfare. Which, given how mundane this film is, may be the best possible outcome for the movie… For without the negativity of reviews, Darrell Wheat’s modern-day slasher movie may just find an audience.

Hide and Seek opens on a creepy family who, it turns out, have a girl trapped in a trunk in the basement! From what I can gather in the all-too-brief intro, is that...

Glasgow Frightfest ’17: ‘It Stains the Sands Red’ Review
Stars: Brittany Allen, Juan Riedinger, Merwin Mondesir, Kristopher Higgins, Andrew Supanz, Michael Filipowich, Nico David, Dylan Playfair | Written by Stuart Ortiz | Directed by Colin Minihan

It Stains the Sands Red follows Las Vegas wild child Molly who finds herself stranded in the desert with a ravenously relentless zombie hot on her high heels, after a horrendous flesh-eating apocalypse ravages Vegas. Forever trying to give it the ingenious slip, the lone stalker has no need of rest and soon it becomes her only physical contact in a world gone mad…

The zombie genre has took a bit of a beating over the years. Too many films and not enough good ideas it seems, and many horror fans are suffering from zombie movie burn-out – especially when it seems like we’re getting a new zombie movie every moth these days! However, there have been some interesting new takes on the much-maligned genre...

American Exorcism – First Images!
New stills from late 2016 release American Exorcism courtesy Thriller Films. Damon (Michael Filipowich, Longmire) was once possessed by a vicious demonic entity leaving him physically and emotionally damaged but giving him certain powerful abilities. Unfortunately for Damon exorcised demons don’t truly die and they certainly don’t forget. William McKinney (Blue Like Jazz), Kate Tumanova …

"24' Recap: Day 8: 12:00 Pm - 1:00 Pm
Well folks, it appears we're going with the one on/one off schedule again. After a decent episode last week -- filled with a returned to glory Jack -- we're back to a fairly uninteresting episode that does at least do away with some of the more idiotic sub-plottery. It's filler time! This would be understandable if we'd had more great episodes than poor, but since we haven't, I'm feeling let down. One would think the writers know they need to keep us hooked if they want their jobs to go on, but perhaps even they know it's time to quit. And thus I must use this moment to beg, plead, whine, cajole - whatever it takes, just please(!) do not(!) send Jack off(!) with Renee!!! That would not be the happy ending 24 fans want, in fact I daresay we'd rather see Jack dead. So do it, kill the man...

.V. . A Bright New Day
By Jenn Falls. This review may contain spoilers. This week.s episode is gratifying to both old and new viewers of .V,. hooking both with some important reveals about the V.s, major characters, and alien technology. Unlike some shows in the sci-fi genre that pose questions and take a long time in showing any answers, .A Bright New Day. makes the leap from a remake to holding its own as a sci-fi show that is likely to survive. This week.s episode delves right into dealing with the tension of those that know the truth behind the V.s. For Ryan (Morris Chestnut), he pursues trying to find Cyrus (Michael Filipowich) to reform a V rebel group known as the Fifth Column with the mention of a mysterious leader called John May, which will definitely need future attention. Cyrus, an unwilling ...

The movie is in pre-production to start shooting in South Africa in September. Leading the mostly local cast is Michael Filipowich (Charlie Jade).
