- Is not related to Robert Culp although the two closely resemble each other.
- Has played the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy twice: in Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996) and in Trece días (2000).
- An extremely busy television actor, he managed to maintain recurring roles simultaneously on four series during the 2003-2004 TV season. He played CIA Agent Clayton Webb on JAG Justicia Militar (1995); Major Hayes, commander of the M.A.C.O.s on Enterprise (2001); Speaker of the House Jeff Haffley on The West Wing (1999); and Dave Spencer, one of Dr. Corday's love interests on Sala de urgencias (1994). He also managed to squeeze in guest appearances on The Lyon's Den (2003) and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000) during the season.
- Son of Mary Ann (Joseph), from Coshocton, Ohio, and Joseph Franklin Culp, from Dallas, Texas. His ancestry includes Dutch, English, German and Scots-Irish. His sister Kathryn Harvey (wife of Bryan Harvey, guitarist and singer for the critically acclaimed duo House of Freaks) was murdered on January 1, 2006, along with her husband and two young daughters.
- Steven Culp and Dylan Baker, stars of Trece días (2000), did their undergraduate study together at the College of William & Mary.
