In 1995, Bonsall decided to take a break from acting to focus more on music. He and his family moved to Colorado, where he graduated from Boulder High School in 2000.

Attended Missouri Military Academy for one year.

States his heroes as his father and his grandfather.

Has one son Oliver (b. August 2019).

In December 2006, Bonsall's Colorado-based band Thruster broke up.

Joined the punk band, The Ataris as the lead guitarist in 2016.

Got a black armband tattoo on his 18th birthday.

Began band, Late Bloomers, with friends in 1998.
