There was a charm and excitement about being with a touring company, which has never existed in a long Broadway run with a single success. Heaven forfend that I should cry down a New York hit or the good luck to be in one, since from the economic point of view it is an actor's dream, and there were inconveniences on the road that I daresay I forget with the passage of time, but I can tell you I'd like to tour Australia again, or sit down to a table at some of the boarding houses I knew in Philadelphia, Omaha or Salt Lake.
