John Beradino(1917-1996)

Johnny Berardino, who changed his family name to Beradino, was also a baseball player for the Cleveland Indians team which won the 1948 World Series, although he did not play in the Series. In 1953, he retired from baseball after injuring a leg and returned to acting.

. . . I had been contemplating leaving the game [baseball] as early as 1947 to concentrate on acting . . . most people don't realize that I was an actor long before I was a ballplayer. I was one of those brat actors in the "Our Gang" comedies . . . I always loved acting as a kid.
