Updated with statement from Rose’s attorney: A new lawsuit accuses Guns ‘N Roses singer Axl Rose of sexual assault and battery over an alleged attack in a Manhattan hotel suite in 1989.

Sheila Kennedy’s suit claims she “suffered severe emotional, physical, financial and psychological distress” when Rose (real name William Bailey) “used his fame, status, and power as a celebrity and performer in the music industry to gain access to manipulate, control, and violently sexually assault” her.

The case was filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which provides a one-year window for sexual assault plaintiffs to file civil claims, regardless of the statute of limitations. That window closes on Thursday.

Bradley Rubenstein: Can you give me a little of your backstory? I know you went to Yale for painting, but you have also been a sign painter and worked in movies and TV, and you are also a musician. How has all of that informed your work?

John Paul: In St. Louis I had solid training, and at Yale exposure to cutting-edge thinking.

But on her way there Tuesday night, Norman, who has an aggressive bone cancer called osteosarcoma, experienced difficulty breathing and had to be airlifted back to Tennessee Children's Hospital. Brave cancer patient, Katelyn Norman, 14 made a bucket list that included so many normal teenage girl things, including having a date to prom, dancing to a slow dance and grabbing a kiss at the end of the magical night. In a thoughtful gesture, Katelyn’s generous friends helped make her dreams come true, and hosted a separate prom in her honor on March 26!

Axl Rose claims music giant Irving Azoff concocted a diabolical plot to destroy Guns N' Roses ... TMZ has learned.

Rose just filed a countersuit against Azoff -- his former manager -- claiming Azoff tried to strong-arm Rose into a reunion tour with the original members of Gnr.   When Rose nixed the idea on the heels of the Chinese Democracy tour last year, Azoff did everything he could to screw Axl ...so he claims.

Among other things, Rose claims Azoff tried "devising and implementing a secret plan to set up Rose and the band for failure so that Rose would have no choice but to reunite with the original Guns N' Roses' members."
