- Took up the drums at age 12 after hearing John Bonham's playing on, "When The Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin.

- Worked as a Teamster in New York Local 269 from 1978-1982.
- Grew up in Huntington Station, New York, birthplace of poet Walt Whitman. Attended Walt Whitman High School.
- Nickname in high school was "Tony Mopar" due to his knowledge of Chrysler muscle cars. His 1971 'Cuda 440 six pak was reputed to be the fastest car in any high school on Long Island.
- Affectionately referred to as "The John Bonham of editing" by his peers.
- Was discovered by legendary casting director Jane Feinberg while busing her table at The Palm Restaurant in Hollywood.
- Nickname "TC" given to him by director Tony Scott while working on Días de trueno (1990).
- Badly injured in a motorcycle accident on his way to work with one month to go in post production on Misión: Imposible 2 (2000).
- Worked from 1982-1987 as a waiter at industry hangout The Palm Restaurant in Los Angeles.
- Was second editor on Misión: Imposible 2 (2000) for a year until a serious motorcycle accident knocked him off the picture. Was then given lesser final film credit of "Additional Editor".
- Received fan mail guest-staring as "Matt Gomez" in Patti's Party (1986), Season 1 Ep 2 of NBC Sitcom, My Sister Sam (1986) staring Pam Dawber. At one point, the Producers considered making Tony a semi-regular on the new series.
- Worked as a gas station attendant (pumped gas, checked tires, washed windshield) at a Gulf Station across from his high school his senior year.
