Was engaged to commodities salesman John J. Collett (whom she met at an AA meeting) at the time of his murder on 10/28/91. Collett, 29, was gunned down by a hitman outside a San Fernando Valley deli in what may have been a business scheme gone wrong. Richards and Collett were speaking on the phone when the shooting occurred.

Made her acting debut in a diaper commercial when only four months old.

Made 20 TV commercials before she was 4-1/2 years old.

First husband Monty Brinson was heir to a supermarket franchise. She left him for John Davis, elder son of billionaire oil and entertainment mogul Marvin Davis, but ended up marrying the younger brother Gregg. She met the father of her fourth child, aircraft parts supplier John Jackson, in 1992 when he purchased her late fiancé John J. Collett's Harley-Davidson motorcycle; they split in 1996.
