Courtney's biological maternal grandmother, Paula Fox, was born in New York, to Paul Hervey Fox, who had British Isles ancestry, and Elsie de Sola, who was a Cuban immigrant, of Spanish descent. A DNA test taken by Courtney indicated that her biological maternal grandfather was Ashkenazi Jewish.

In reality, Love was on tour with Hole at the time of her husband Kurt Cobain's suicide. However, she remains the subject of a conspiracy theory that he was murdered and many suspect Love was the perpetrator.
