We’re eagerly awaiting the crisp feel of Fall, the cozy vibes of a murderous small town, and the heartfelt drama of our favorite hospital.

Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long for it, as Fox has officially released its lightly scripted but impactful Fall schedule for its many series.

We know most of you are locked in on that scripted content, so we’re happy to say that Murder in a Small Town and Doc come together for a killer good night of TV! Are Tuesdays the new Thursdays? It feels like it.

Sadly, there isn’t much scripted television programming floating around outside of CBS. Many of the other broadcast networks have leaned heavily into reality programming, competition shows, and sports.

Even Fox has a heavy slate of competition, including reality-type shows and animated programming.

Fox has announced its fall 2025 premiere dates for new and returning scripted, unscripted, and animated series.

The fall season kicks off with the fan-favorite musical guessing game Celebrity Name That Tune, hosted by Tony Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Jane Krakowski with Grammy Award-winning producer Randy Jackson serving as band leader, returning for another season starting Monday, Sept. 15 (8:00-9:00 p.m. Et/Pt).

It will be followed by the series premiere of cutthroat game show Celebrity Weakest Link, hosted by Emmy Award winner Jane Lynch (9:00-10:00 p.m. Et/Pt). The hit Emmy Award-nominated Weakest Link returns for a new season with this all-celebrity edition, but for the first time in broadcast history, on Fox. In each themed episode, eight celebrities from the worlds of television, sports, or stand-up comedy compete to win up to one million dollars for the charity of their choosing.

Rob Lowe revealed that he had a good sense of humor when he neared the end of his time on The West Wing, and he even showed off a prop he made before he officially parted ways with the series.

In a TikTok video posted on Thursday, Lowe spoke directly to the camera as he stood in a storage room. “So a lot has been talked about my issues, such as they were on The West Wing, which I love. I love that show and I love everybody in it,” he began. “It’s all good now, but there were some difficulties.”

Fox’s upcoming game show “99 to Beat” has given its contestants one more surprise: The show’s prize pot, originally set at $100,000, has been bumped up to $1 million. Fox revealed the news of the windfall while sharing a first look at the new gamer, hosted by Erin Andrews and Ken Jeong, which Variety can reveal exclusively.

Plimsoll Productions, the company behind natural history titles such as Apple’s Tiny World and Disney+’s A Bug’s Life, is fishing for a U.S. sale of its shark infested reality competition series.

The company is launching Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters on ITV this evening and is hoping that solid ratings will be chum in the water for broadcasters and streaming services searching for more shark content.

The series takes a group of celebrities to the Bahamas – the shark capital of the world – and tasks them with diving with a different species of shark, with the breeds getting bigger and more dangerous each time.

Plimsoll boss Grant Mansfield was out in LA last month to pitch the format to broadcast networks and streamers and two of his key lieutenants – Head of Factual Entertainment Karen Plumb and Creative Director, Factual Entertainment Andrea Jackson – are confident that it will sell Stateside.

Much has been said about Mike Myers’ fraught relationship with director Penelope Spheeris, specifically the notes Myers provided after filming wrapped. Hollingsworth stars as fan-favorite Brady on Netflix’s Virgin River, which recently wrapped production on its seventh season for premiere in 2026. With Season 7, Virgin River becomes Netflix’s longest-running current original scripted series as well as the longest-running English-language drama series in the streamer’s history.

After reimagining Road House, filmmaker Doug Liman is set to reboot the Stephen King story The Stand. The tale has already spawned two TV series adaptations in the past, but Liman will be making a big change with this version, as it would be a singular feature film.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Liman is attached to direct a feature film adaptation of The Stand for Paramount Pictures. Tyler Hompson of Cross Creek Pictures is also serving as a producer on the project. Currently, a screenwriter hasn't been named, but with the change in format, they may have their work cut out for them with this adaptation.

Liman will also produce along with Tyler Thompson of Cross Creek Pictures, with the two previously collaborating on “American Made,” the based-on-a-true-story drama starring Tom Cruise.

Largely thought to be one of King’s greatest accomplishments, “The Stand” takes place in the aftermath of a pandemic caused by a weaponized virus (dubbed Captain Trips), where the survivors are either swayed by the forces of good or those of evil, personified by Randall Flagg, who would go on to become a recurring figure in some of King’s other work, most notably the “Dark Tower” series of novels.

The novel, which is considered to be one of Stephen King’s best, deals with a deadly pandemic that kills nearly the entire population. The survivors are drawn to two opposing communities, one led by the kind, prophetic Mother Abagail and the other by the sinister, demonic Randall Flagg. This all leads to a final battle between good and evil. The search is now on for a writer to tackle the project. In addition to directing, Liman will also produce alongside Tyler Thompson of Cross Creek Pictures.

At 1,152 pages, The Stand is King’s longest book. While you might think that Paramount will be viewing this as something that will span multiple films, sources tell THR that “Liman and the studio have a particular take and that the feature would be a one-off, not a multi-movie endeavor.

And the new show is led by Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

As a matter of fact, Don Sharpe marks O’Donnell’s first show and role following his run as G. Callen on NCIS: Los Angeles.

Having O’Donnell back on TV is going to be a fun treat, and I can’t wait for the season premiere.

Earlier this month, Alexis Bledel withdrew herself from Emmy consideration due to a rule change. The actress, who won Best Drama Guest Actress in 2017 for The Handmaid's Tale, made an appearance in the show's series finale, but the new rule prohibits her from competing in guest for the same show because of her prior 2018 nomination in supporting. Instead of submitting in supporting, Bledel took herself out entirely. And she's far from the first star to do so.

The next 9-1-1 franchise series, 9-1-1: Nashville, is set to have its debut this fall. As fans wait to see a first look at the show, the first official teaser trailer was released for 9-1-1: Nashville.

Posted on social media, the teaser comes with the tagline, "From Broadway to backroads, Nashville's emergencies are anything but ordinary." The video does not include actual footage from the series, featuring an animation with some of the cast members' names emblazoned on different buildings in the Tennessee city. There are also flashes of fires affecting the city as a cover of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" plays, hinting at the firefighting that will be on display in Season 1 of the show. The new teaser can be viewed below.

I'm not breaking new ground when I say that Adam Scott is excellent on "Severance." This isn't a hot take; it's decidedly room-temperature. Technically, Scott plays two characters on Dan Erickson's twisted take on a "workplace comedy," even though they are the same person: Mark Scout, a miserable man who lost his wife Gemma (Dichen Lachman) in a tragic car accident, and to deal with his overwhelming grief, who takes a job at Lumon Industries that offers a procedure called "severance" that splits his consciousness into two distinct parts. When he leaves work, he's stuck being plain old Mark Scout, but at work, on the "severed" floor, he's Mark S., a willing acolyte of Lumon who has no idea that he ever had a wife, let alone lost one.

Chris Pratt is returning to his roots in a new dark comedy series that is currently in development at Amazon from John Owen Lowe, the creator of the Netflix series Unstable. Before his rise to stardom in 2014 with Guardians of the Galaxy, Pratt was best known for his role as Andy Dwyer in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, with the actor becoming well-regarded in the series for his comedic timing and improvisation. Now, Pratt will executive produce the new Prime Video series, titled God's Country. Interestingly, it seems that the actor's role in the project will be entirely behind the scenes.

According to an exclusive report from Deadline, God's Country is a "darkly satirical tale of family and greed, with Shakespearean roots." The series will follow a ruthless real estate tycoon whose ambitions of gentrifying the heart of America end up ultimately threatening his empire and involving his family...

9-1-1: Nashville reveals its first trailer, with connections to the spinoff's main plot point. Hailing from franchise co-creators Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear, in addition to 9-1-1: Lone Star showrunner Rashad Raisini, 9-1-1: Nashvilleis set to debut on ABC later this year. The second spinoff in the franchise, coming after 9-1-1: Lone Star, has already recruited NCIS: Los Angeles alum Chris O'Donnell and Grey's Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw in leading roles. It has also brought two big Nashville names: LeeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

On the show's official Facebook page, 9-1-1: Nashvillerevealed its first trailer and highlighted how music will have a big connection to the spinoff. As chaos unfolds in the teaser, with fire everywhere, the brief teaser highlights the main cast and underlines the fact that Nashville's status as Music City will be a significant focus of the upcoming spinoff.

Rob Lowe is dishing on his thirst traps!

Last month, the 61-year-old Parks & Rec actor took to Instagram to share a shirtless photo of himself flexing in the gym alongside his son John Owen Lowe.

In in a new interview, Rob joked about posting thirst traps online.

“If you got it, flaunt it, use it or lose it, and it ain’t bragging if you’ve done it,” he added. “Those are my three go-tos.”

Rob went on to say that it was his son’s idea to post the shirtless pic, but it later inspired a bit of friendly competition in the gym.

“It got really competitive. Then we were doing extra sets, you know what I mean?” Rob said with a laugh.

9-1-1star Kenneth Choi opens up about his character's future on the series.

Speaking to TV Insider, Choi responded to the question of whether his character, Howard "Chimney" Han, might be ready to step into the role of Captain in the upcoming ninth season of 9-1-1. "No. Chimney’s not ready for any type of dutiful responsibilities whatsoever. Never," Choi replied.

9-1-1 had plenty of major shakeups in its eighth season, not the least of which was the shocking death of Peter Krause's Captain Bobby Nash in the season's fifteenth episode, "Lab Rats." In the episode, Nash sacrifices his own life in order to save the rest of his team from a lethal, fast-moving virus. The loss of Nash hit the series' main cast of characters about as hard as they could imagine, and made some major waves with the stars of the show, as well.

See, all my family are gatekeepers to my own future business now," he joked. "Chad Lowe is the executive producer and director of 9-1-1: Nashville.
