David was honored with the prestigious Media Access Award at the "25th Silver Anniversary" of the Media Access Awards. The Awards were held on October 14, 2007 at Universal Studio's Globe Theatre. Other recipients of the Awards included Stevie Wonder, Norman Lear, Boston Legal, Fern Field, Jim Troesh, Entertainment Tonight, Daryl "Chill" Mitchell, John Levey, Dancing with the Stars, Anthony E. Zuiker, Tari Hartman Squire, Karen Meyer, Loreen Arbus, Linda Bove, and Music Within.
