Gave birth to her first child at age 19, son Alastair Young on April 8, 1937. Child's father was her first husband, Arthur Young.

Adopted her second child, daughter Catharine Lorre (b.1953, d. 1985 from complications of diabetes), with her third husband James Powers. Catharine's biological father was Kaaren's second husband Peter Lorre and she decided to adopt a girl after he died. (1964)
