In 2025, the Halloweenies are celebrating the storied legacy of the Universal Monsters. Dracula, Wolf Man, Frankenstein, his Bride, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Invisible Man… all will be covered. In fact, each monster is getting their own month, giving the Halloweenies plenty of time to dig deep into their respective origins and chart their influence over the past century and some change.
In July, they tickled their funny bones with the 1948 Universal Monster comedy classic Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. Today, the Halloweenies are finally braving the Bavarian Alps to actually meet The Monster itself within James Whale’s iconic 1931 Universal Horror classic Frankenstein.

In my younger years I had two horror obsessions: the Universal Monsters and the stalker slashers that came to prominence in the ’80s, two very different approaches to the concept of the horror icon. In the ’30s and ’40s, the heyday of the classic monsters, most of them were imbued with a sense of empathy; audiences could somehow relate to the poor souls depicted on screen. Even Dracula and the Invisible Man, the least sympathetic among them, occasionally displayed at least some modicum of humanity.
In the case of the later decades, the killers were usually a personification of pure evil, especially in the cases like Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger,...

Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps is now approaching its sixth weekend in theaters, and the MCU reboot is still hanging in there at the box office.
Despite the perception that the latest big-screen outing for Marvel's First Family underperformed (it's probably safe to assume it didn't do as well as the studio hoped it would), the movie is expected to pass the $500 million mark this weekend. Not an outstanding showing, but far from a disaster in the current box office climate.
Will we get a sequel? The team is set to return for Avengers: Doomsday, and rumor has it that director Matt Shakman has had discussions about taking the helm of another movie.

It grossed only $34 million at the box office, but Julia Garner’s monster movie remake is now a hit, as it surges on streaming. It’s perhaps too early to pick the star of the summer for 2025, but Weapons stand-out Garner has to be considered among the front-runners.
It was enough of a big deal for Garner to be cast as the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: First Steps, the MCU debut for the most iconic of all comic book quartets, but she has now pulled off a stunning summer double-play by also starring in the smash-hit horror movie Weapons.
Garner’s 2025 summer dominance indeed extends beyond the big screen.

Despite the perception that The Fantastic Four: First Steps underperformed at the box office, the movie has proved to have stronger legs domestically than many expected.
According to the latest updates, the new big-screen outing for Marvel's First Family took in $1.6 million on Friday - a -35.9% drop from last week - and now looks set to finish its domestic run at around $275 million (it should pass $500M worldwide).
Though it's difficult to imagine Marvel Studios being overjoyed with the reboot's takings, it was a bigger hit than 2025's other MCU releases, Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*.
As for Superman, James Gunn's Dcu reboot has now officially passed $600 million globally.

Universal Pictures has faced more than its fair share of challenges with rebooting the classic Universal Monsters for modern audiences. The studio clearly understands that there is ample value in the associated IPs. However, not every attempt to bring the properties into the 21st century has been successful. In fact, The Mummy (2017) performed so poorly that the studio scrapped their plans to create a shared Dark Universe with that as the entry point.
The studio seemed to have cracked the formula with Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man. That film made nearly $150 million at the global box office against an estimated budget of only $7 million. Naturally, the studio courted Whannell for another reboot from the classic Universal Monsters archive.
The next project Whannell developed with Universal is Wolf Man, of course. Though it didn’t deliver the critical acclaim or box office success that The Invisible Man did, Wolf Man...

Few franchises can boast the same level of impact on popular culture as the Universal Monsters. From popularizing the idea of a shared cinematic universe to introducing several generations to classic horror literature, we’re still feeling the effects of these early horror blockbusters nearly a century later. That’s why it makes sense that so many filmmakers have attempted to leave their own mark on these iconic stories about monster-hunting heroes and misunderstood creatures.
One of the most interesting trends among these frequent narrative re-imaginings has to be the one where filmmakers attempt to update vintage frights to the modern day. And in honor of storytellers proving that a good monster can still be scary in any time period, we’ve decided to come up with a list highlighting six modernized versions of the Universal Monsters!

Paul Walter Hauser made his MCU debut as Mole Man in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and despite his brief screen time, he emerged as a highlight of the movie thanks to his hilarious scene in the Baxter Building.
Mole Man was originally going to feature more prominently, but director Matt Shakman has previously revealed that he cut a scene with Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) paying a visit to the villain's home in Subterranea in an effort to forge a truce.
Hauser has now taken to Letterboxd to share his review of First Steps, and he gave the movie 3.5 stars. A solid rating, but it is rare to see an actor share such an honest and unbiased take on a project they appeared in.

The summer is winding down, and the days are getting shorter. Stores are also starting to fill up with festive fall goodies to prepare for the spooky Halloween season. This includes decorations, candy, and costumes. However, for horror fans, stores like Spirit Halloween and Target will additionally have the latest genre action figures from our favorite franchises – most of them from Neca. Now the popular nostalgic toy company has returned with their latest figures based on horror’s original monsters.
Neca’s next wave of seven-inch scale figures is a bundle of the Universal Monsters. This includes Dracula, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, and Frankenstein's Monster. However, these aren't your average everyday monsters. These are specifically based on the 1986 Classic Movie Monster toyline. Their retro and bright colors are meant to emulate the mid-'80s when franchise action figures were at their peak. These will be Neca Store exclusives and will be $99.99 Usd together.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Concept Art Reveals Alternate Take On Galactus' Arrival To Earth 828
Concept artist Jackson Sze has shared more of his work to his Instragam, and this time we have a look at some art depicting an alternate version of a sequence from The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Towards the end of the MCU reboot, Marvel's First Family decide to use Franklin Richards as bait to lure Galactus to the planet, where they hope to force the gigantic Devourer of Worlds into a portal to another universe.
Though the villain realizes what they're up to, Sue Storm is ultimately able to use the full extent of her power to push him through the last remaining portal - with some help from a redemption-seeking Silver Surfer.
"Galactus Approaches! Early concept development on how Galactus arrives on Earth 828. Working closely with @ryan_meinerding_art we thought that there is an opportunity here for a striking visual using Galactus' iconic silhouette set against the planet.

Dear Reader, I am once again asking you to do the unthinkable and…….ignore this review. Simply stop reading now, and go see the damn movie. Zach Cregger’s highly anticipated Weapons hit theatres this last weekend and just like his 2022 surprise shocker Barbarian, the less you know the better. That said, if you’re on the fence about seeing this one and you’re just looking for rough idea of what to expect, you’ve come to the right place.
I would hate to ruin the experience of seeing this wild story slowly unfold as intended, so you’re *pretty much* free of spoilers from here on out. But if you like movies,...

Updated Monday Am: New Line’s Weapons is higher with a $43.5 million domestic and $71.8 million global opening over the weekend. Meanwhile, stateside, Disney’s Freakier Friday has eased to $28.6M. Again, per the female under-25 stats we provided Sunday, it appears Weapons impacted Freakier Friday.
For Weapons, Sunday came in at $11.3M instead of $10.3M, off 19% from Saturday’s $14M. While legging out to a crazy 5x multiple is foreseeable, in regards to whether the Zach Cregger-directed movie registers a 15% second-weekend dip like Get Out or even -5% like Sinners, we won’t know until we’re in the thick of next weekend. Sinners posted a first Monday of $7.8M, while Get Out‘s was $4.1M, so that gives you an idea of benchmarks.

The Fantastic Four Writer On Cut Mole Man Scene, Changes To Final Galactus Battle, & More - Spoilers
Prior to the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, director Matt Shakman revealed that John Malkovich's villainous Red Ghost would no longer appear, and when audiences saw the movie for themselves, it became clear that this was far from the only scene that didn't make the cut.
First Steps has been mostly very well-received, but one consistent criticism from fans and critics has been that the last act feels a little rushed, with pacing issues resulting from the movie being trimmed in order to keep its runtime under 2 hours.
We've already heard that at least one scene involving Mole Man (Paul Walter Hauser) was cut, and writer Eric Pearson has now shared some more details on this sequence and why it was ultimately removed.
"There’s other scenes of Mole Man," Pearson confirmed to THR. "There was another scene with Sue where she goes down and talks to him about diplomacy,...

Though Marvel Studios' marketing does usually get a bit more spoiler-y when a movie has been in theaters for more than a couple of weeks, they've really taken it up a notch with the recent promo material for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

We also have some quotes from writer Eric Pearson, who outlined certain Silver Surfer plot points and scenes from his original script that didn't make the final cut during an interview with THR.

When we first heard that Natasha Lyonne was set to appear in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, fans assumed that she'd be playing Alicia Masters (though the voice of H.E.R.B.I.E. was also a popular theory), but the Poker Face star was actually cast as an original character named Rachel Rozman.
Likely based on Debbie Green from the comics, the character's name is believed to have been changed as a tribute to Jack Kirby's wife, Rosalind "Roz" Goldstein.
In the movie, Rozman is an elementary school teacher Ben Grimm meets while entertaining a group of kids on Yancy Street. The two hit it off, but Rachel only appears in one other full scene in the third act. Now, we may know why Lyonne's role was reduced.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps was hit with a pretty steep drop at the domestic box office during its second weekend in theaters, leading to questions and concerns about the MCU reboot's franchise potential. Marvel Studios doesn't seem overly daunted, however, and may already have plans in place for a sequel.
Though nothing has been officially announced (and probably won't be for a while), Jeff Sneider has heard that "Matt Shakman will likely return to direct a sequel."
Apparently, Marvel execs are confident that a second movie will be a bigger box office success once audiences become more familiar with Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben after they return for Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.
During yesterday's earnings call, Disney's Bob Iger said that The Fantastic Four had “successfully launched this important franchise into the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” which was our first indication that more Ff movies are in the early planning stages.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps was hit with a 66% drop at the domestic box office during its second weekend in theaters after a strong debut. Even so, the movie has now passed the $200 million mark in North America, and is performing better than Marvel Studios' previous 2025 releases, Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*.
Granted, this isn't exactly a major accomplishment.
It's impossible to deny that Marvel movies (and superhero films in general) simply aren't the massive box office draws they once were, with $1 billion hits such as Deadpool and Wolverine now the exception rather than the norm. While Marvel/Disney were almost certainly hoping that First Steps would be a bigger hit, is it reasonable to suggest that studio execs are now at panic stations?

The latest box office numbers are in, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps suffered a steeper-than-estimated drop domestically after its second weekend in theaters.
Marvel Studios' reboot was expected to take in at least $40 million over the weekend, but only ended up making $38.7M (marking a 67% drop). The movie should hit $200 million later tonight, and is currently sitting at around $367 million worldwide on a reported production budget of $200 million.
There's been quite a bit of doomsaying (no pun intended) about these figures, but it is worth keeping in mind that First Steps is still performing better than both Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts* (it's actually already passed the latter's entire domestic cume) overall.
Some of the negativity likely stems from the perception that The Fantastic Four was always viewed as Marvel's biggest movie of the year, and was released to compete directly with DC Studios' Superman. Regardless, we...

Some of the negativity likely stems from the perception that The Fantastic Four was always viewed as Marvel's biggest movie of the year, and was released to compete directly with DC Studios' Superman. Regardless, we...

We recently asked ComicBookMovie.com's readers to let us know how they felt about Marvel Studios and director Matt Shakman's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and the results are in.
1346 of you voted, and - just like the results of our Superman poll - the majority of you went with the most positive option, "Fantastic, 5/5," continuing all the way down to the most negative choice, which got just 2% of the votes.
While James Gunn's Dcu reboot certainly had its share of detractors, First Steps seems to have been embraced by the majority of fans. Critics were also won over, and the movie is currently sitting at 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. Unfortunately, Marvel's First Family's latest big-screen outing doesn't seem to have resonated with general audiences to the same extent.

Things aren't looking quite so fantastic for Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps at the North American box office.
As estimates suggested, the MCU reboot was hit with a sharp decline (an almost 80% drop from opening day) on Friday after taking in $11.7 million. Though this is far from a disastrous result (the movie is still performing better than both Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*), it is a worrying sign that First Steps' debut was significantly front-loaded.
Despite positive reviews (86% on Rotten Tomatoes) and a warm reception from fans, the movie just doesn't seem to be connecting with general audiences in quite the same way, and word-of-mouth clearly hasn't been strong enough to make Marvel's latest the must-see event film the studio was hoping for.
First Steps is currently sitting at $170 million domestic, and should pass the $200 million mark by Tuesday. Was opening so soon after Superman a mistake?...

As we know, Joe and Anthony Russo actually helmed the mid-credits scene for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which features the MCU debut of a character who will be integral to Avengers: Doomsday.
Major spoilers follow.
As you've probably heard by now, the stinger concludes with the introduction of Doctor Doom, although we don't actually see the villain's face.
After a four-year flash-forward, we see Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) reading her son, Franklin Richards, a story in the Baxter Building. When Sue leaves to choose another book, she hears a sound from the living room, powering up as she returns to face whatever danger may await.
Invisible Woman finds Victor Von Doom crouching down to speak to Franklin. The villain appears to be whispering something to the child, but his face is obscured by his cloak. The only indication we really have that this actually is Doom (Robert Downey Jr....

Prior to the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, director Matt Shakman revealed that John Malkovich's villainous Red Ghost would no longer appear, and when audiences saw the movie for themselves, it became clear that this was far from the only scene that didn't make the cut.
There are a number of shots from the various trailers and TV spots that didn't appear in the finished film, including more of the team in space, Johnny Storm falling back to Earth after confronting the Silver Surfer, and what looked like a pretty intense conversation between Reed Richards and Sue Storm.
This is not exactly unusual, of course, but even though First Steps has been mostly very well-received, one consistent criticism from fans and critics has been that the last act feels a little rushed, with pacing issues resulting from the movie being trimmed in order to keep its runtime under 2 hours.

As the years accumulate in my time as a horror critic, I’m growing unwillingly jaded when it comes to my ability to be surprised by the genre. So, when a film like Weapons springs from the shadows and has me screaming at the screen, cackling nervously, and genuinely stressed from start to finish, I can’t help but consider it something of a (bad) miracle.
Like filmmaker Zach Cregger’s previous effort, Barbarian, Weapons is joyously cruel, constantly surprising, brutally funny, and 100% cursed from top to bottom. However, where Barbarian felt like three separate films laminated together, this one is impressively unified. Even with some familiar chapter-based storytelling, it manages to deliver a single, coherent nightmare. This structure could’ve come off as gimmicky in lesser hands, but Cregger uses it with precision to amplify dread, tension, and emotional investment, one carefully calibrated segment at a time.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is now in theaters, and we want to know what you, ComicBookMovie.com's readers, thought about Marvel Studios' long-awaited reboot.
Fans of Marvel's First Family have been waiting a long time to see these characters done justice on the big screen after several underwhelming efforts, and so far, the consensus seems to be that Marvel pulled it off by delivering a fun, stylish and engaging superhero adventure.
The majority of critics were very impressed, anyway, as the movie is currently sitting at 88% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 291 reviews.
There really hasn't been much negativity aimed the movie's way, but some do seem to feel that the third act felt a little rushed, and there wasn't enough time dedicated to developing Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm's characters.
Let us know what you made of First Steps by voting in the poll below.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps star Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards) has shared several behind-the-scenes photos to his Instagram page, and one of them features the four main cast members in the team's classic blue and black costumes.
We have heard that a much longer sequence featuring Marvel's First Family in these suits (likely doing battle with John Malkovich's Red Ghost and his apes) was originally going to open the movie, but there is still a brief shot of the heroes in their classic attire facing off against Mole Man's monster in the montage, which also name-drops villains such as Diablo, Mad Thinker and The Wizard.
Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben wear updates versions of these suits for the majority of the movie, but we'd say there's a decent chance they will debut all-new costumes for their return in Avengers: Doomsday.

Despite being in the heart of summer, the spooky season is almost here. That means Spirit Halloween will be opening up locations across the country, horror movie marathons will be all the rage, and genre fans will be buying every piece of seasonal merchandise off store shelves – including action figures from Neca. The popular toy company has spent the last decade making horror die-hards happy with various Universal Monster and slasher-rated items. Now, they've returned with their latest batch of figures.
These new horror figures will be series nine of their Ben Cooper Halloween Costume Kids line. This latest wave includes five new deadly characters:Pennywise from Stephen King's It, Leatherface from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Art the Clown from Terrifier, Jigsaw from Saw, and Michael Myers from Halloween. The latter of which is based on the monster’s design from 1981’s Halloween II. Similarly, Pennywise is based on his 2017 remake appearance.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps features several standout moments, but arguably the most exciting and intense scene occurs about midway through the movie, as Sue Storm gives birth to Franklin under seriously perilous circumstances.
As Marvel's First Family are making their escape from Galactus' ship after attempting to negotiate with the all-powerful villain (he asks for Reed and Sue's unborn son in return for sparing their planet), Invisible Woman goes into labor, and must deliver her baby with the help of Reed, Johnny and Ben as they blast through space with the Silver Surfer in hot pursuit.
While speaking with USA Today, Vanessa Kirby - who is currently pregnant herself - discussed the nail-biting sequence, explaining why she was glad to be part of a scene involving the arrival of a new life because "in cinema history, we see thousands of deaths, but hardly any births."

After the success of their tie-in event with Fortnite for Ryan Coogler‘s Sinners back in March, Warner Bros. is doing it again, this time with Zach Cregger’s upcoming Weapons. Reported by Variety, ahead of Cregger’s sophomore effort landing in theatres next month, creative agency and production studio Sawhorse (who worked on the Sinners: Survive the Night in Fortnite) created a “2:17 Am” event occurring at the designated time in the Utc time zone. And just like the showtimes for Weapons, 2:17 Am is the time in the film where every child from Mrs. Gandy’s class wakes up and disappears into the night.
The event takes place across the four available Fortnite modes, where players will find in-game clues, creepy environments and time-based challenges to complete. According to Nic Hill, co-founder and head of interactive at Sawhorse, the event is a showcase of how studios like Warner Bros.

Susan Storm, aka Invisible Woman, has gone through a lot of changes in the comics over the years, and while the character is usually depicted as an altruistic, heroic, and caring mother and wife, she does have a darker side - one that manifested in an incredibly powerful alter-ago known as Malice.
The "Mistress of Hate" first appeared back in Fantastic Four #280 during an encounter with the supervillain known as Psycho-Man, who used his abilities to invert the feelings within Sue’s mind, switching love to hate and vice versa. After confronting her teammates, we were given a much better idea of the destructive potential of Storm's power.
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, The Fantastic Four: First Steps star Vanessa Kirby said she would jump at the opportunity to explore this side of her character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point.

Marvel's First Family has finally returned to the big screen. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is in theaters now. In the lead up to Marvel Studios’ latest film, there was a ton of merchandise for fans to gush over. The retro-future vibe of the film worked in the marketing's favor, but you can't beat the classic source material. Now McFarlane Toys is back with their latest Marvel Comics figure.
A part of McFarlane's posed figure collection, their new 1:6th scale figure is of The Silver Surfer. Specifically, this is based on the cover of Fantastic Four #72. The figure will also come with a re-printed issue of that iconic comic. Silver Surfer now joins The Human Torch and The Thing in McFarlane's Marvel series.

Beetlejuice, the story of a pale gothy teen who’s terrorized by a pale gothy adult, just might just be the Tim Burton-iest thing that Tim Burton ever Tim Burton-ed into the world. So would Warner Bros. really make another movie about the “Ghost with the Most” without him?
For a long time, there was no sequel to Burton’s original 1988 blockbuster, with the exception of the beloved animated series and the Universal Studios stage show in which Beetlejuice belted out Kiss covers with the help of Frankenstein and the Wolf Man.
But last year, Burton reteamed with most members of theoriginal cast who weren’t convicted of horrific crimes for the sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. And it was a huge hit, making more than $450 million at the box office.

While we fully encourage you to see both movies on the big screen, with Marvel's The Fantastic Four: First Steps and DC's Superman opening in such close proximity, a bit of friendly (and some not-so friendly) competition was inevitable.
Though First Steps doesn't hit theaters until Friday in North America, the review embargo lifted yesterday, and the movie is already "Certified Fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes at 87% based on 134 reviews. James Gunn's Dcu reboot is slightly behind at 83% with 440 reviews counted.

It's been a long time coming, but the moment has finally arrived. Six years ago, Disney completed its purchase of Fox for $71.3 billion. For Marvel fans, that meant that the "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" rights were finally going to be in the hands of Marvel Studios. That has now materialized in the form of "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," which kicks off Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the final phase of the Multiverse Saga, so there's a lot on the line and a lot coming our way over the next few years. Does this movie have a post-credits scene to help tee up what's to come?
MCU fans have become accustomed to credits scenes over the years. Recently, the credits scene in "Thunderbolts" was directly connected to "Fantastic Four." It's the nature of the beast. We're here to offer up a spoiler-free guide for viewers who plan to see "First Steps" in theaters.

Since the rights to the Fantastic Four reverted back to Marvel in 2019, fans have been eagerly awaiting the introduction of one of Marvel Comics’s most important properties into the MCU. That day has finally come with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, a safe but satisfying adventure that benefits from an infectiously fun aesthetic and some brilliant casting choices.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps follows the eponymous family of superheroes as they face a seemingly unstoppable threat: the planet-devouring entity Galactus and his herald, the Silver Surfer. Refreshingly, even though the film’s stakes are literally planetary in nature, the film never loses sight of its intimate core thanks to the clever use of a storyline from a later comics run.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman recently made headlines by appearing to reveal that Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) will lead Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Doomsday.
“He goes from being the nerdy scientist who’s locked away in the lab, to the husband and the father who’d do anything to protect his family, to the guy who’s leading the Avengers,” Shakman said of the Ff patriarch. “I realized that the version we were building had to have all of those elements.”
Though some took this as confirmation that Mr. Fantastic will lead the Avengers in the upcoming MCU event film, others assumed that Shakman was simply referring to Reed's journey in the comic books.
While speaking to Screen Rant, the filmmaker clarified his comments.

Fans had some trepidation about The Fantastic Four: First Steps following reports from early test-screenings, but if the social media reactions are anything to go by, they needn't have worried.
We've learned not to put too much stock in these initial reactions, but the X posts from those who have seen the MCU reboot are significantly more glowing than they were for Captain America: Brave New World, for example.

Whether First Steps really is destined to be considered a "masterpiece" (that word is tossed around way too liberally) remains to be seen, but these reactions do give us reason to be excited.
Check out the new teaser along with a behind-the-scenes featurette focusing on the movie's VFX below.
This Friday, experience Marvel Studios...

Details of The Fantastic Four: First Steps' post-credits scene have been doing the rounds for a while, but it seems the stinger was originally going to set up the events of Avengers: Doomsday in a very different way.
According to scooper Mttsh, Marvel was considering reintroducing Chris Evans as Steve Rogers in his Nomad persona before plans changed.
Spoilers for the actual post-credits scene follow.
"For Fantastic Four: First Steps, they originally planned a post-credits scene with Chris Evans as Nomad coming to warn them. Then they replaced it with one featuring Doom. Now, in the final version, there are two post-credits scenes."
Evans recently claimed that he was "happily retired," and has no intention of reprising his most famous role. During a reent interview with Screen Rant, the Materialists star remained adamant that he won't be back, while admitting that he's sad to be missing "the party."
"I mean,...

Freddie Prinze Jr. has a favorite piece of lore from his childhood.
In the late ’70s, only a few years after the untimely death of his famous father, Prinze went with his mother to Universal Studios. The back-lot tour was delightfully chock-a-block with actors playing the company’s iconic monsters.
“Wolf Man, Dracula, the Creature from the Black Lagoon,” Prinze remembers. While other kids hid behind their parents, screaming, Prinze was starstruck. “I would ask for hugs,” he says. “I hugged Frankenstein.”
In time, Prinze would spin his boyhood love of monsters into a Hollywood career as a ’90s heartthrob. His Noxzema smile and chiseled jawline made him the object of desire for millions of rising millennials in the Ugly Duckling rom-com “She’s All That.” He’s also synonymous with beloved horror franchise “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” a movie that cemented him — and co-stars Jennifer Love Hewitt,...

An international teaser for Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps has found its way online, giving us a look at quite a bit of new footage from the MCU reboot.
The tone is a little more sombre than previous trailers, as Marvel's First Family begin to comprehend the magnitude of the threat Galactus and the Silver Surfer pose to their world.
Speaking of the Devourer of Worlds, we do get a new look at the all-powerful villain, but the shot cuts away just before his full face is unveiled. We have seen plenty of promo art and merchandise at this stage, but it seems Marvel does intend to save the full reveal for the movie.
“It’s a big moment when the Fantastic Four get to see him for the first time,” director Matt Shakman tells USA Today. “And I'd love for that to be the same for the audience.

Robert Eggers is bringing in one of his frequent favorites for his highly anticipated Werwulf. Following the release of Nosferatu, which saw the filmmaker give the vampire genre a critically acclaimed and box office hit, Focus Features is hoping the director can do the same for the werewolf genre. Werwulf is increasingly becoming a Nosferatu reunion film as both Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lily Rose Depp are set to star in the movie, and now Eggers has brought on his most recurring actor.
Deadline reports that Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of Werwulf in an undisclosed role. This marks Dafoe and Eggers' fourth collaboration after 2019's The Lighthouse, 2022's The Northman, and 2024's Nosferatu. Eggers is also set to direct Dafoe in a new feature film adaptation of A Christmas Carol, where Dafoe will play Ebenezer Scrooge. Werwulf currently has a release date set for Dec. 25, 2026, signifying it will hit...

When it was announced that Paul Walter Hauser had joined the cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, fans immediately began to speculate that he might be playing the first foe the team ever faced on the page, Mole Man.
Now, USA Today has made it official with a first look at the Black Bird actor as the subterranean villain - although it sounds like he won't actually be a full-blown bad guy in this movie.
“He is living sort of in the shadows like a villain would, but he's also taking care of an entire race of people and trying to live his life without being bothered,” Hauser says of his character.
It seems Harvey Elder's beef with Marvel First Family will be political in nature.
“It's a power struggle, but within that, there are compromises and alliances made.” adds director Matt Shakman: “He's all about community, and...
