Trivia
While he played Mike Abbott in all the television series of 'Bless This House' he was unable to do the film as he was contracted for a Summer Season production so was replaced by Robin Askwith.

I started to really think about my life, who I'd been, what I'd done with it, what it had all been for. The emphysema was getting worse, riding had become impossible, work even more so, and I was alone - it wasn't how I'd ever imagined my life would work out. I was profoundly depressed, to be honest, and wondering if life was worth the effort.
