Ambi to finance 'To The Bone'
Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi’s Ambi Group has come on board the Keanu Reeves starrer.

Ambi Distribution will jet to Cannes next month to commence worldwide sales on the film that also stars Lily Collins, Carrie Preston, and Liana Liberto, as well as new additions Lili Taylor, Alex Sharp and Brooke Smith.

To The Bone marks Marti Noxon’s feature directorial debut and is inspired by her personal experience with anorexia.

Julie Lynn and Bonnie Curtis of Mockingbird Pictures will produce along with Karina Miller, who is also financing through her company Sparkhouse Media, the company she heads with her husband and financier, Talal AlAbbar.

Iervolino and Bacardi will serve as co-executive producers and the project marks the start of a broader strategic relationship between Ambi and Sparkhouse Media that will see the two companies co-finance and co-produce a slate of films.

How To Talk To Girls At Parties

Ruth Wilson, Jessica Plummer, Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, Alex Sharp and Matt Lucas have joined the cast of John Cameron Mitchell's "How To Talk To Girls At Parties" at A24. The film is based on a short story by Neil Gaiman while Howard Gertler, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman are producing.

The story follows a shy teenage punk rocker in 1970s suburban London, and his two closest friends. One night they all sneak into a party where they meet a group of intensely attractive, otherworldly girls; at first they think they're from a cult, but eventually come to realize the girls are literally aliens with nefarious plans. The acquisitions scene has been quiet in Toronto this year, though A24 has just nabbed one of the big pre-buys off the market with John Cameron Mitchell's "How to Talk to Girls at Parties." The film will unite Mitchell with Alex Sharp, Tony winner from Broadways "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," and once again with Nicole Kidman, Oscar-nominated for his 2010 drama "Rabbit Hole."
