Fourteen years ago, Saqib Saleem and Saba Azad debuted with Y-Films’ Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge. I’m sure neither the actors nor the fans of that film, including yours truly, ever imagined seeing these two actors together in something like Zee 5’s Crime Beat, all these years later. I don’t have to tell you that the latest show is drastically different from Saleem and Azad’s debut film in every aspect. It is still a nice, perhaps unplanned, reunion. But if I have to point out the things that actively hurt Crime Beat, then the romance between Saleem and Azad’s characters should be at the top of the list. Midnight’s Children was an incredibly ambitious and unique project. Playing Saleem Sinai right after Taare Zameen Par was both exhilarating and challenging.

Exclusive: Power‘s Omari Hardwick has signed on to star in No Right Way, a new drama to be co-written and directed by Golden Globe, Emmy, and NAACP Image Award winner Anthony Hemingway (Red Tails).

Hemingway is teaming with Ashoka Thomas and Clay Ayers to adapt the screenplay, inspired by Terrence Gallman’s 2014 book Finding Me, which is based on the author’s life story. Anthony Hemingway Productions will produce, with Hardwick to exec produce through his Bravelife Productions. Alex Nagel will also serve as executive producer.

The project reunites Hemingway and Hardwick following their work together on the pilot for Starz’s hit series Power, which the former directed.

Speaking about the festival, Aasif, who plays Vibhuti Narayan Mishra, said: “Every year, I eagerly look forward to celebrating Eid with my loved ones. The drama series ‘The Magic of Shiri’ has released its new trailer mixing up comedy, drama, emotional complexities and adventure, as the series not only features high production but also great dialogues by the looks of it.

The streaming show is a story of ambition and embracing the dreams, it follows Shiri, who must chase her dreams of becoming a magician while tackling all the obstacles in her path ranging from social and family stigma to various other odds.

Set in the vibrant and chaotic Paharganj neighbourhood of Delhi in the mid 1990s , the story follows the journey of Shiri Shah whose life takes an unexpected turn when her husband abruptly leaves to become a Jain monk, leaving her to face the challenges of single-handedly providing for her children.
