His boxing and fencing abilities were Olympic Games level.
His performance as Dracula in El escuadrón de los monstruos (1987) is considered by many to be one the best interpretations of the character. In fact, in 2006 when "Wizard" magazine did a list of the 100 Greatest Villains of All Time, and Dracula was ranked at #30, it was Regehr's version that appeared on the list.
His Russian-Mennonite father, Peter Regehr, was a microbiologist whose lifelong passion for painting had an influence on Duncan.
He is an accomplished horseman and did the majority of his riding (and action) stunts while filming as Zorro in New World Pictures/Family Channel's "New World Zorro".
Was an Olympic boxing contender, champion figure skater, and has classical Shakespearean stage training.

Speaking about acting: I enjoy working in film and will continue to give as much as I can through both media. As long as you can give something valuable, you should continue to work. If your work isn't valuable, you should get off the stage. I believe mine is. At least, I have fun with everything that comes my way.
Speaking about his art: I have always worked to express in a direct, intimate way what it means to be human. Exploring below the surface continues to reveal intensely personal content that invites reciprocal identification by the viewer. The business of scumbling and scraping applications of paint, in order to bring forth an image, can be likened to the process of therapeutically peeling back layers of the psyche and the imagination in order to expose truth. The difference is that the search is actually a physical operation whereby the unknown can be realized. Figurative mysteries initially presented as raw expression, resolve into allegorical paintings that hold their form, line, colour and subject matter with equal importance.
