“The Great British Bake Off” has been one of the most popular reality competition shows in the world ever since it premiered on BBC Two in 2010.
However, whether you’ve seen the U.K. series (now on Channel 4) stateside on PBS, Netflix or Roku, you’ve experienced the joys of British baking under a different name altogether — “The Great British Baking Show.” The same goes for its U.S. counterpart.
Ahead of the premiere of “The Great American Baking Show: Celebrity Summer” this weekend, judge Prue Leith opened up about the discrepancy on contestant Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s “Dinner’s on Me” podcast.

After eight seasons of unabashed humor and explorations of adolescence, Netflix’s 'Big Mouth' concludes its groundbreaking run with an eighth and final season that balances its signature gross-out comedy with a reflective and heartfelt tone. Season eight ties up loose ends, elevates the show’s central themes, and pushes its characters to the brink of self-discovery while still delivering the laughs fans have come to expect. While the season still includes plenty of hormones and awkward firsts, season eight focuses more on how identity, friendship, and insecurity evolve as childhood gives way to the looming uncertainties of adulthood. The creators Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Jennifer Flackett, and Mark Levin continue to embrace the absurdity that has always been 'Big Mouth’s' trademark, but it also takes moments to slow down, breathe, and allow its characters to wrestle with more nuanced emotions. The result is a deeply satisfying farewell that...

We can be friends if you remember Peter Hyams’ 1992 dark comedy Stay Tuned. The high-concept comedy starring John Ritter and Pam Dawber is a beloved cult classic about a husband and wife who are sucked into a hellish television set and must survive the gauntlet of twisted versions of shows in which they find themselves. Stay Tuned is a bizarre bit of fun from the early ’90s, and now Josh Gad is bringing it back! That’s right, folks! Get your remote controls ready, because Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells will star in a comedy series inspired by Hyams’ sadistic and satirical film, Stay Tuned, for Hulu.
According to Deadline, Stay Tuned is created by Akiva Goldsman, Jordan Cahan, and Greg Lessans, with Cahan set as showrunner. In addition to their starring roles, Gad and Rannells will executive produce alongside Goldsman and Lessans through Weed Road Productions, Morgan Creek’s James G. Robinson & David Robinson,...

Don't touch that dial! The Book of Mormon co-stars Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells are teaming up on the small screen...and getting sucked into it. They're set to star in a TV remake of the cult 1993 comedy Stay Tuned. The new series is being developed for Hulu. Deadline reports that the series will be a loose remake of the 1993 film, which was directed by Peter Hyams (Outland), and written by Jim Jennewein and Tom S. Parker (The Flintstones); in it, Gad and Rannells will find themselves trapped inside the world of television.
Although Gad and Rannells won accolades for their star-making Broadway performances in Book of Mormon, and became close friends during its production, this will only be their second on-screen collaboration: they previously made cameos in Hulu's History of the World, Part II. “Girls” always seems to surge back into the cultural conversation, particularly since Lena Dunham’s new series “Too Much” premiered on Netflix earlier this month. In the near-decade since “Girls” aired its HBO finale, its cast has gone on to become film and TV stalwarts. Among the most prolific, of course, is Andrew Rannells — who appeared with Dunham on “Too Much,” giving fans the Hannah and Elijah reunion they were waiting for.

Lena Dunham is back in the spotlight, and eight years after the conclusion of “Girls,” we missed her. We’ve all known Dunham to be a voice of a generation, and she’s now packing all her years of celebrity into her latest magnum opus: “Too Much.”
Sure, “Too Much” is a critically acclaimed return to smart rom-coms with female audiences in mind. Did we expect anything less from Dunham? Lena Dunham is back in the spotlight, and eight years after the conclusion of “Girls,” we missed her. We’ve all known Dunham to be a voice of a generation, and she’s now packing all her years of celebrity into her latest magnum opus: “Too Much.”
Sure, “Too Much” is a critically acclaimed return to smart rom-coms with female audiences in mind. Did we expect anything less from Dunham? No. What is different, though, is the inclusion of nods to her own viral moments. This is Dunham laying bare for audiences once more — and only her true fans, raised being way too online, would get all the references to her lore.

On paper, Lena Dunham and Megan Stalter seem like an ideal creative match for their new Netflix comedy Too Much. Dunham is the co-creator and star of Girls, the acclaimed (if polarizing) HBO comedy about Hannah, a young woman with a knack for making situations uncomfortable in a hurry. Stalter, meanwhile, has spent the last few years on Hacks playing Hollywood assistant turned talent manager Kayla, a character with a lack of self-awareness that rivals Hannah’s. Dunham doesn’t act much anymore (though she has a small role in...

Lena Dunham is making her TV return with “Too Much,” loosely based on her own experience moving to London and meeting her husband, British musician Luis Felber.
With Dunham deciding not to star in “Too Much,” “Hacks” breakout Megan Stalter stars as Jessica, who meets indie musician Felix, played by “The White Lotus” Season 2 star Will Sharpe. Don’t worry, though, Dunham still appears on-screen as Jessica’s sister, who’s dealing with her own issues in her marriage (her husband is played by “Girls” star Andrew Rannells).
There are plenty of other “Girls” and “Camping” casting Easter Eggs in “Too Much,” with a slew of A-listers popping into the Netflix romcom series, including Naomi Watts, Jessica Alba, Rita Ora and Andrew Scott, among others.

Could Lena Dunham bring “Girls” into the 2020s? The series creator and recent “Too Much” showrunner told Variety that she is still open to the possibility of revisiting the beloved HBO show. “Girls” concluded in 2017 after six seasons, and starred Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and Zosia Mamet as a millennial friend group in Brooklyn.
While Dunham has teased a possible “Girls” reboot down the line for years and has been in talks with HBO about bringing the show back, she is now detailing what that revival would entail.
“If we had something to say that was really specific and it was a moment in their lives where we felt like revisiting it — like millennial women becoming mothers or stepping into menopause or going to live at old-age homes — I would always want to work with those people again,” Dunham said.
And Dunham has a few ideas about where the beloved characters would be specifically…...

Is Too Much a little ... too much? That's the central question that critics are wrestling with as Lena Dunham's latest series drops on Netflix today. Loosely inspired by the Girls creator's own life, the series follows freshly broken-up with Jessica (Hacks fan-favorite Megan Stalter) as she decamps from New York to London and strikes sparks with laid-back musician Felix (White Lotus fan-favorite Will Sharpe).
As with Girls, Dunham's brand attracts a bevy of big-name guest stars. Rita Wilson and Rhea Perlman are part of Jessica's extended family, while Richard E. Grant and Andrew Rannells are among her coworkers, and Jessica Alba and Rita Ora play themselves. Dunham wrote or cowrote every episode and directs eight out of 10 Season 1 installments.
Dunham can be a divisive pop-culture figure, and that carries over into the critical reaction to Too Much, which currently sits at a 65 Metacritic score as reviews roll in. The Paper...

An expat makes her way through single life in London, where her unique personal style is a frequent topic of discussion. Her work isn’t always stimulating, but does let her mix with entertaining oversharers. When she visits a bar on a pivotal night, she has a chance meeting with a sexy artist who will become very important to her. Is he ready for love? Is she? The first season of their show really puts them through dizzying joys and shattering pain — but yes, Too Much is TV’s tenderest romantic comedy since Starstruck.
Too Much’s expat — an American this time — is Jessica (Megan Stalter), a line producer working in TV commercials. After her boyfriend Zev (Michael Zegen) leaves her for knitting influencer Wendy (Emily Ratajkowski), Jessica is forced to move out of his apartment and back in with her mother, sister and nephew at her grandmother’s house on Long Island.

Get ready for a romantic comedy that’s not afraid to get weird, raw, and heartbreakingly real. Too Much, Lena Dunham’s newest series, debuts July 10 on Netflix, and if the trailer is anything to go by, it’s a rom-com that mixes classic charm with the chaos of emotional baggage and modern-day relationships.

Forget dreamy walks through Notting Hill. Too Much opens with a meet-cute set in a grimy London pub bathroom where a man named Felix (Will Sharpe) asks Jessica (Megan Stalter) for toilet paper through a stall door. Jessica, a heartbroken and overworked New Yorker, escapes to London after a brutal breakup. She imagines a fresh start filled with solitude and literary vibes — think Brontë sisters in a cozy flat. But her plans are upended when she meets Felix,...

In the wake of Anna Kendrick’s success in the charming black comedy A Simple Favor and way before its sequel, Another Simple Favor, she was tapped to star in HBO Max’s Love Life, which unfortunately ran for a short time. Created by Sam Boyd, the rom-com premiered on May 27, 2020, but was cancelled in December 2022, a month after its Season 2 finale. Now, close to three years later, fans will be beyond thrilled to know that Love Life has found a new streaming home in the U.S. thanks to Netflix.
As confirmed by What’s on Netflix, Love Life will arrive on Netflix U.S. on August 5 for the first time with two seasons and all twenty episodes. It’s no secret that the show was one of the earliest HBO Max Originals and performed well among viewers. However, after being removed from the streamer, it became widely unavailable,...

2012 was a different time. Barack Obama was the U.S. President, "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen and "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye (featuring Kimbra) topped the Billboard charts, and "Gangnam Style" was, like, a thing. Also, "Girls," the comedy series created and helmed by writer, director, and actor Lena Dunham, stared airing on HBO and inspired literal decades of discourse.
Dunham is returning to the small screen with Netflix's new original series "Too Much," which premieres on July 10 — and in a feature in Variety, she admitted that she would consider a revival of "Girls" (sort of like the "Sex and the City" reboot "...And Just Like That," except hopefully a "Girls" reboot would be good). It would be tricky, though.

It’s been seven years since a Lena Dunham show has been on TV, a stretch of time that catches even the “Girls” creator herself off guard, as she ponders the break between her second HBO show, “Camping,” and her new Netflix series, “Too Much.”
But the reprieve in between projects was a necessity for Dunham, who notes she spent the entirety of her 20s crafting TV series, with “Girls” running on HBO from 2012-2017 and “Camping” coming shortly after in 2018. “I felt like I needed to take a little bit of time to reconnect to what I really love about what I do,” Dunham told TheWrap ahead of the debut of “Too Much,” a Netflix comedy loosely inspired by Dunham’s decision to move to the U.K. after a breakup.

Robert De Niro has been part of several award-worthy and critically acclaimed films throughout his sprawling, decades-long career. While he has been nominated for the Academy Awards several times, there is one film of his that Quentin Tarantino felt was equal to some of his Oscar-nominated features.
Many would be surprised to find that we are talking about the 2015 comedy drama, The Intern. Tarantino not only once expressed that the film is his favorite but also remarked that De Niro should have won an Oscar for it. Moreover, if you haven’t gotten around to seeing The Intern, the good thing is that it is soon coming to Netflix.

In The Boys, real-life superheroes are revered as celebrity gods keeping the community safe. Based on the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, it was developed for Prime Video by Eric Kripke and stars Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Elisabeth Shue and Chace Crawford. The comedy satire action drama hybrid explores what happens when these heroes go rogue and abuse their powers, telling a highly entertaining cautionary tale about celebrity worship, materialism, fame and greed.
Every season of The Boys so far is dialed up to 11, teeming with absurdist-level blood and gore, hilariously inappropriate dialogue and imagery, and a wickedly fun superhero storyline. And each season features at least one killer tune from twice Emmy-nominated composer Christopher Lennertz. When Darren Criss picked up a Tony Award on Sunday night for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical for his turn in Maybe Happy Ending, the veteran star became the third straight Glee alum to win a trophy on Broadway’s biggest night. He followed hot on the heels of Jonathan Groff, who won his first Tony last year for Merrily We Roll Along (and he was nominated this year in the same category as Criss for Just in Time), and Alex Newell, who won best featured actor in a musical for Shucked in 2023.

"People are full of pent-up rage and dark secrets..." Indeed. Netflix has debuted the official trailer for a new Lena Dunham romantic comedy series called Too Much, ready for streaming this summer. She last made the two other films Sharp Stick and Catherine Called Birdy, but they were not successful, so she's back at it with a new TV series (for streaming). But she meets Felix who causes her to reconsider finding love again. Too Much is an ex-pat rom-com for the disillusioned who wonder if true love is still possible, but sincerely hope that it is.
