He booked his very first audition when he was cast in Joy of Sex (1984) by director Martha Coolidge. She gave him two roles by making two of the characters brothers.

Prescott was named after his great-grandfather, Robert Emerson Trout, who worked for Thomas Edison in Menlo Park.

Robert Prescott trained for two years in New York with Joanne Baron in the Meisner Technique and was cast by her in The Joy Of Sex which Joanne Baron starred in. Robert Prescott later studied with Fred Kareman in New York. (Deceased).

Was in the David Foster music video, "Love Theme from St. Elmo's Fire (Instrumental)".

Prescott is deeply grateful to NYRWDP (New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project) and STWS (Serving Those Who Serve) for their selfless help in treating the deadly effects of exposure to toxins.
