- Was married to tv-personality Gabriella Jakupcsek. They have two sons: Bálint and Marcell Máté.
- Considers Mielött befejezi röptét a denevér (1989), Esti Kornél csodálatos utazása (1995) and Presszó (1998) his most important movies, and, of course his first leading role in Circus maximus (1980).

- After he directed Ákos Németh's play 'Müller táncosai' at the Katona Theatre in 1992, he wanted to make a film version of it, but he soon called it off as the producers layed down unacceptable conditions.
