James Cameron Reveals This Harry Potter Star Is a Key Player in 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' and Beyond
Image
While most long-running franchises usually have source material that they draw from, like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Game of Thrones, which keeps the world going in several directions within the overarching storyline, James Cameron’s Avataris creating its mythos on the go. It works because the audience goes in without any reference or preconceived notion about the characters and every time get their mind blown. In The Way Water, we met the water tribe, the Metkayina clan, and the upcoming Fire and Ash will introduce us to Wind Traders, seen in the latest teaser with their jellyfish like giant ships in air.

Playing their leader is Harry Potter fame, David Thewlis, who wasn’t seen in the trailer but will play a very important part in the franchise. “They're going to be throughout the cycle of 3, 4 and 5,” Cameron teases in a new interview with Empire Magazine. As for their leader,...

The Leader: Jim Parsons joins Heaven’s Gate cult biopic
Tim Blake Nelson at an event for Leaves of Grass (2009)
Two years ago, we heard that Tim Blake Nelson and Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring) would be starring in The Leader, a true crime biopic about a story that shocked the world back in 1997, the mass suicide of the members of the Heaven’s Gate cult. That project has finally made it into production, and Deadline reports that Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) has joined the cast. Details on the character he’ll be playing haven’t been revealed – but it’s not difficult to imagine him playing a member of the Heaven’s Gate cult.

Farmiga is playing cult leader Bonnie Nettles, a.k.a. Ti. Nelson’s character is the cult’s infamous frontman, Marshall Applewhite, a.k.a. Do. Also in the cast are Simon Rex (Red Rocket), Grace Caroline Currey (Fall), Matthew Glave (The Wedding Singer), William Mapother (In the Bedroom), Jb Yowell (A Jar Full of Christmas...

Image
Reasons Why Avatar: Fire And Ash’s Trailer Has Me Counting Down To December 19 ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Years ago, when the world of blue aliens created by James Cameron came to life in front of our eyes as Avatar, it left us stunned. The first film was released in 2009. Cut to 2022, Cameron came out with another film with the same blue aliens, but under the water for Avatar: The Way of Water. Now, the director has released the trailer of the new Avatar world, Fire and Ash. In this one, the blue aliens will meet another tribe of Na’vi (they wear red headdresses).

Touted as the biggest Hollywood release in India, this third instalment of the global phenomenon promises to transport audiences back to the breathtaking world of Pandora like never before. Here are the three things I am excited about in Avatar 3. Scroll ahead.

Avatar: Fire and Ash trailer drops online; James Cameron’s epic saga continues this December
James Cameron
Released in 2009, director James Cameron’s film Avatar became the first movie to officially gross more than $2 billion. Then it took him thirteen years to get a sequel into theatres, so it wasn’t clear if the follow-up was going to be able to replicate that success. But then, sure enough, Avatar: The Way of Water also grossed more than $2 billion, paving the way for not only Avatar 3, or Avatar: Fire and Ash, (which is scheduled to reach theatres on December 19, 2025) but also Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 – which will be released on December 21, 2029 and December 19, 2031, respectively. With the release of the third film now just five months away, a trailer has dropped online and can be seen in the embed above!

Cameron crafted these sequels with a writers room that consisted of Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (who worked on The Way of Water and Fire and Ash), Josh Friedman...

First ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Trailer Expands the World of Pandora With New Tribes and Creatures
Image
James Cameron’s “Avatar: Fire and Ash” is finally on the horizon.

The third chapter in his epic sci-fi saga, which began with 2009’s “Avatar” and continued with 2022’s “Avatar: The Way of Water,” is arriving in theaters this Christmas. And the first trailer for “Fire and Ash” has debuted after an exclusive opening weekend run attached to “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” It’s a doozy.

Picking up right where “The Way of Water” left off, the trailer deals with Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) and their family following the death of one of their children at the end of the last movie. At one point, Jake tells her, “You cannot live like this baby – in hate.” All of the hallmarks of the “Avatar” series thus far are present – spray-painted-on-the-side-of-a-van fantasy imagery, crazy creatures, an ethereal beauty and action sequences that can only spring from the mind...

Pandora Is Engulfed in Flames in First ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Trailer
Image
It’s been over two years since Avatar: The Way of Water swam into theaters everywhere, and now James Cameron is officially back with the next chapter in his legendary sci-fi story. Disney has finally released the first trailer forAvatar: Fire and Ash ahead of its December 19 release date, signaling a return to a different side of Pandora. The first official Fire and Ash trailer turns subverts expectations by teasing a showdown between the Ash people and the Metkayina, who took in Jake Sully in Avatar 2. It appears Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) will somehow get the Mangkwan clan to side with him in his relentless pursuit of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), despite most fans expecting that they would help Jake, similar to the Metkayina.

Both Worthington and Zoe Saldaña return to star as Jake Sully and Neytiri in Avatar: Fire and Ash, with Lang also set for another...

‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Trailer: Jake Sully’s Family Fights Evil Na’vi in Stunning Footage From James Cameron’s Third Movie
Image
Disney has released the first trailer for director James Cameron’s third “Avatar” movie, titled “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” It’s scheduled to hit theaters on December 19, 2025, three years after “Avatar: The Way of Water.”

Just like “The Way of Water” introduced the aquatic Metkayina clan of Pandora, “Fire and Ash” will debut a new group called the Ash People. At the 2024 D23 Expo, Cameron came on stage to debut a teaser to attendees, which showed the fearsome, soot-covered tribe who danced around a giant fire pit.

“You’ll see a lot more Pandora that you never saw before,” Cameron said at the 2024 D23 Expo. “It’s an insane adventure and a feast for the eyes, but it’s also got very high emotional stakes, more than ever before,” Cameron said during the presentation. “We’re going into really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love.”

Image
Return to Pandora with the first trailer for director James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash. The third chapter in the Terminator 2 and Titanic filmmaker’s multi-billion-dollar-grossing sci-fi action epic, Avatar: Fire and Ash promises to push the characters, the world around them, and the franchise into new territory as it introduces the greatest threat that Jake Sully and his family have ever faced.

The footage suggests that not much has changed in Cameron’s approach in telling the Avatar epic, but then why would it when the franchise has already made billions? Revealing our first look at new tribes, heroes, and villains, those already enamored with the Avatar saga will quickly become teary-eyed when presented with this tease of another glorious epic.

Avatar: Fire and Ash stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, Cch Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao, Britain Dalton, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss,...

Avatar: Fire And Ash Gets Two New Empire Magazine Covers Highlighting Oona Chaplin's Villainous Varang
Image
The first teaser trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash is currently playing in theaters before The Fantastic Four: First Steps. It leaked online in HD earlier a couple of weeks ago, but Disney moved quickly to take those down.

In the meantime, we have two new covers from Empire Magazine putting the spotlight on the Ash People/Mangkwan Clan and their leader, the villainous Varang. We've explored Pandora's forests and seas, but this corner of the planet has a far more sinister feel to it.

"Varang is the leader of a people who have gone through an incredible hardship. She's hardened by that," filmmaker James Cameron explained earlier this year. "She will do anything for them, even things that we would consider to be evil."

"One thing we wanted to do in this film is not be black-and-white simplistic," he teased. "We’re trying to evolve beyond the ‘all humans are bad,...

'Dead Man's Wire' First Look Shows Bill Skarsgård in the True Crime Thriller
Image
Historical crime films and thrillers adapt real-life events and bring them to the silver screen. From some of history's most unforgettable crimes to moments that shaped laws and the world today, these films give viewers a chance to live in that moment for about an hour or more in theaters. The latest historical crime movie, directed by Gus Van Sant, tells the story of a 1977 kidnapping and features a star-studded cast. A first look at Dead Man's Wire shows a chilling scene where the kidnapper, Tony Kiritsis, played by It actor Bill Skarsgård, holds a gun to the head of mortgage banker Richard Hall, played by Dacre Montgomery.

In the photo, posted by DiscussingFilm on X (formerly Twitter), the image shows the moment police officers swarmed Kiritsis as he held Hall hostage. Colman Domingo, Myha'la, Cary Elwes, John Robinson, and Academy Award winner Al Pacino also star in the film.

Avatar: Fire And Ash First Official Poster Released; Trailer Confirmed To Debut With The Fantastic Four
Image
Disney has confirmed recent reports that the first trailer for James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash will screen ahead of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps this weekend. We're not sure when it will be released online, but we're hearing July 28 (it will almost certainly leak before then).

In the meantime, we have a first official poster for the sci-fi threequel, which introduces Oona Chaplin (Game of Thrones) as the villainous leader of the Ash People, aka the Mangkwan Clan, Varang.

Cameron has previously said of the character: "Varang is the leader of a people who have gone through an incredible hardship. She's hardened by that. She will do anything for them, even things that we would consider to be evil."

Check out the poster artwork at the link below, along with some reactions to the trailer, which was shown to those in attendance at last night's LA premiere of First Steps.

The First Avatar: Fire And Ash Trailer Has Leaked Online In Full HD

While we know that Disney intends to have the first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash play in front of The Fantastic Four: First Steps next weekend, there has been no word on when we can expect an online release.

Thanks to a new leak, fans no longer have to wait, as the teaser has somehow started circulating online in full HD.

The trailer is full of stunning new imagery from Pandora, and finds Jake warning his wife, Neytiri, that she can not live in "hate." It appears he eventually gives himself up or is captured by the Rda, though, as we see him being marched before a group of humans in a moment that could precede Jake's return to Earth.

The seemingly villainous Ash People are also highlighted, with a battle between their leader, Varang, and Neytiri also teased.

Freddy Krueger & Candyman Team Up in This 57% Rotten Tomatoes Horror Film Fans Can Stream for Free

Director Adam Green’s horror-comedy Hatchet has fans’ hearts. The cult classic wasn’t a box-office hit upon initial release in theaters, but over time has developed a mass following that often likes to revisit the film, especially during the spooky season, which is right around the corner. While Hatchet hasn’t been easy to find on streaming, it recently found a home on a free platform.

Per ComicBook, Hatchet is now available on Tubi, which recently revealed its July line-up. The movie is somewhat of a parody of slasher movies, which also stars one of the most iconic slasher performers: Robert Englund, whoplayed Freddy Krueger in the A Nightmare on the Elm Street franchise. Avatar: Fire And Ash New Look Revealed As Stephen Lang Hints At Big Developments For Quaritch And Spider
Image
One of Avatar: The Way of Water's biggest shocks came when we learned that Stephen Lang's Miles Quaritch, resurrected as a "recombinant" Na'vi, was the father of Spider, a human child adopted by Jake Sully and Neytiri.

As the movie progressed, Spider was forced to come to terms with his father being a villain looking to lay waste to Pandora alongside the Rda. Despite being raised by Jake and Neytiri, he did bond with his father and begrudgingly saved his life.

However, that doesn't mean they're about to put their differences aside as father and son in this December's Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Talking to Empire Online, (via SFFGazette.com) Lang says, "They reconnect out of necessity. Their connection is not a solo connection. There are times when everybody comes together on some level. But, when enemies cooperate, you can be sure betrayal is just around the corner.

Avatar: Fire And Ash Stars Reveal New Details About Where We Find Lo'ak, Tuk, And Spider In Threequel
Image
In Avatar: The Way of Water, we met Jake Sully and Neytiri's children for the first time. However, tragedy struck when their oldest child, Neteyam, was killed while battling the Rda.

That will put the franchise's leads on a revenge mission, and filmmaker James Cameron has previously suggested their quest is what eventually brings Neytiri to Earth (a plot development we expect to see play out in the planned fourth instalment). What of the remaining kids, though?

Britain Dalton, who plays Lo'ak, recently spoke to Empire (via SFFGazette.com) and revealed where we find his middle sibling when Avatar: Fire and Ash begins. "[Lo'ak] was born to be a leader. But he’s never been given the trust," he teased. "When Neteyam dies...that’s no way that he ever imagined being finally able to be seen. He blames himself."

Tuk actor Trinity Bliss added, "I don’t think she’ll ever be the same.

Terrence Howard Movie Shoot Hit With IATSE Strike
Image
Crew members working on an upcoming Terrence Howard film called Cipher are on strike against the production as they attempt to secure a union contract.

Behind-the-scenes workers on the project, which is filming in and outside Louisville, Kentucky, began picketing on Wednesday after the production allegedly ignored a request to voluntarily recognize IATSE as the workers’ bargaining representative. The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to several of Cipher’s producers for comment.

According to a union-side source, crew members sought a union contract in large part so their work on the production could contribute to the qualifying days required to access IATSE benefits. The source alleges that some production has continued since the strike broke out with a skeleton crew as the project seeks replacement workers to fill out what was once a roughly 35- to 40-person crew, depending on the day.

The picket line has formed in front of...

Crew Strikes Against Terrence Howard Film ‘Cipher’ After Production Refuses IATSE Contract
Image
Crew members in Kentucky have walked off the set of the low-budget film Cipher, starring Terrence Howard, in protest after the production declined to secure a union contract with IATSE.

Deadline understands that the production was recently put on notice, because crew felt they were “treated as less than” by being classified as independent contractors rather than employees. A majority of the crew expressed a desire to unionize, primarily in order to secure industry-standard pension & health benefits. Producers had until Wednesday to respond, but sources say they have been silent.

In response to the radio silence, crew went on strike Wednesday and have been picketing on location. It’s unclear whether any actors have crossed a picket line.

Production on Cipher, written and directed by Tony Giglio, began May 12.

The film, which has a budget of $3M, does have contracts with the Directors Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA. Sources also...

Donald Trump Targets Movies Like Avengers: Doomsday, Avatar 4, and Nolan’s The Odyssey With His 100% Tariff Increase on Films
Image
What do Avengers: Doomsday, Avatar 4, and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey have in common, besides being mega-budget blockbusters? Well, it turns out, that all three films are now in the crossfire of Donald Trump’s latest economic move. In a bold announcement on Sunday, the President revealed his plans to slap a whopping 100% tariff on movies made outside the U.S.

Claiming how foreign governments are luring American filmmakers away with sweet deals—hurting Hollywood and even posing a “national security threat”, Donald Trump eventually came to this conclusion of a 100% tariff. Avatar: Fire And Ash First Still Features Guardians Of The Galaxy Star Zoe Saldaña As Neytiri
Image
Avatar: The Way of Water concluded with the death of Jake Sully and Neytiri's firstborn son, Neteyam. Unsurprisingly, that's put them both back on the warpath against the Rda, and the "absolute devastation" will fuel the matriarch's actions heading into Avatar: Fire and Ash.

"That pain is seamlessly followed up on," Zoe Saldaña tells Empire Online (via SFFGazette.com). "And because it doesn’t really have anywhere to go, and doesn’t go away, rage can also come from it. [The Sullys] are going to be tested as a family."

"Not only would everything that’s happening compel her to question the bond she has with her husband," the actress adds, "but also her bond with herself, her people, her land, and the way the Na’vi are. She’s going to question everything."

However, Neytiri will supposedly "meet her match" in Oona Chaplin's Varang, the leader of the Mangkwan Ash Clan.

Daniel’s Gotta Die Review: A Caribbean Conspiracy
Image
Jeremy Lalonde, familiar for character-driven comedies, shifts sharply into darker territory with Daniel’s Gotta Die, marking Bob Saget’s final screen turn as the sly executor Lawrence. The film signals its intent from a Saul Bass–inspired title sequence that nods to mid-century thrillers, then plunges into satirical suspense.

Daniel Powell (Joel David Moore), a sous chef whose relentless cheer defines him, suddenly inherits his affluent father’s empire—on one condition: he must spend a weekend with his resentful half-siblings at their family’s opulent Cayman Islands retreat. Should they bond under Edward Powell’s bizarre chores, the fortune divides; if not, Daniel claims it all.

That seaside villa, with its colonial architecture and sun-bleached corridors, becomes a crucible where North American notions of entitlement clash with Caribbean echoes of wealth and inheritance. Lush palms and pastel walls belie lurking danger, as visual framing shifts between widescreen elegance and tight,...

‘Bride Hard’ Trailer: Rebel Wilson Kicks Ass as a Secret Agent Turned Maid of Honor in Action Comedy
Image
Rebel Wilson is making her action debut with genre-bending comedy “Bride Hard.”

The “Bridesmaids” alum reunites with her former “Pitch Perfect” co-star Anna Camp — who plays the bride of the title — for the feature directed by “Con Air” helmer Simon West. Wilson plays a secret agent whose work gets in the way of her personal life during the weekend she’s the maid of honor at a destination wedding. Anna Chlumsky, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Gigi Zumbado, Stephen Dorff, and Justin Hartley also star.

The official synopsis reads: “For badass secret agent Sam (Rebel Wilson), blending in has never been part of the mission — until she’s maid of honor at her best friend’s extravagant destination wedding. Out of her element and surrounded by high-maintenance bridesmaids and a strict ‘no weapons’ policy, Sam is determined to prove she can be there for her friend — even if emotional support isn’t exactly her specialty.

Avatar: Fire And Ash Concept Art Takes Us Back To Pandora's Oceans; VFX Supervisor Teases New Tulkun
Image
Avatar was a box office hit in 2009, and 13 years later, 2022's Avatar: The Way of Water was also a huge hit, grossing over $2.3 billion at the worldwide box office. Now, all eyes are on Avatar: Fire and Ash to do the same this December.

The sequel introduced us to Payakan, a tulkun (space whale), who is now confirmed to return in the next instalment. Talking to Empire (via SFFGazette.com), VFX supervisor and executive producer Richard Baneham said, "He’s turned out to be one of the most popular characters."

"The reaction emboldened us to go forward and play Payakan at the very highest level," he continued, adding that Payakan now has a female friend, Ta'nok, "another outcast" who has a really "great dynamic" with her fellow tulkun.

Then, there are clan leaders, Matriarch and Patriarch. "Matriarch is a very interesting character," Baneham teased. "She’s in full regalia. We...

The Na’vi Go Surfing in a New ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Image
Image
Not long after Disney’s official panel at CinemaCon unveiled a new clip of Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment inJames Cameron’s legendary sci-fi franchise, just got another exciting look. Empire Magazine has a new still from the upcoming film, showing Lo’ak surfing on the back of Payakan, his Tulkun companion with whom he forms a bond in the second film. This new image is likely from the first act of Avatar: Fire and Ash, before Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and his family depart the Metkayina clan to visit the Ash people. It’s unknown at this time if the reason for their departure will once again be because Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) is closing in on him, or if it’s their choice to leave and explore another side of Pandora.

Avatar: Fire and Ash is due in theaters on December 19 later this year, and it will see Jake,...

'Avatar: Fire and Ash' Reveals New Look at James Cameron's Next Billion Dollar Blockbuster
Image
Director James Cameron continues to conjure awe in audiences everywhere with his next sequel in the hugely successful Avatar franchise, Avatar: Fire and Ash, which has now arrived at CinemaCon. New footage revealed to those in attendance delivered another incredible, breathtaking spectacle of visual effects. As per Discussing Film, the footage played out as follows:

"The first footage we see is the water tribe floating on a strange jellyfish-like ship. The detail is out of this world, with the high frame rate photography looking genuinely cinema-redefining. The next scene involves an aerial attack on Jake, Neytiri, and their clan by the Ash people, who have red paint on their mouths to indicate their tribe. We then transition to more of a traditional trailer.

The Ash People are a vicious tribe, pushing the Water Tribe out of their home. One of the biggest threads is a rage growing in Neytiri, which...

“James Cameron was thrilled with my audition”: Josh Gad Could’ve Made Millions in ‘Avatar’ But His Na’vi Look Was Too Ridiculous for the Movie
Image
Josh Gad, the Broadway actor, narrowly missed the opportunity to star in James Cameron’s sci-fi masterpiece. In his recently released memoir, Gad recalled the moment he almost landed a major role in Avatar as Jake Sully’s best friend.

Known for voicing the iconic animated character Olaf of Disney’s Frozen, he was ready to seize the chance, but luck wasn’t in his favor. He said he apparently looked like a “tall overweight Smurf.”

James Cameron Says His Wife Had a Strong Reaction to ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’
James Cameron
James Cameron revealed that his wife had a strong emotional response after watching Avatar: Fire and Ash for the first time. In an interview with Empire, the director said she watched an early cut of the film without having seen any prior footage and was deeply affected.

“My wife watched the whole thing from end to end. She had kept herself away from it, and I wasn’t showing her bits and pieces as we went along,” Cameron said. “She cried for four hours. She kept trying to compose herself so she could tell me specific reactions, and then she’d tear up and start crying again.”

He eventually had to pause the conversation. “Finally, I’m like, ‘Honey, I’ve got to go to bed. Sorry, we’ll talk about it some other time,’” he recalled.

Avatar: Fire and Ash is the third installment in Cameron’s Avatar series.

In a conversation with Empire, Cameron said when he first showed his wife an early cut of the sci-fi epic, she was completely overcome with emotion and could not stop herself from crying.

“My wife watched the whole thing from end to end. She had kept herself away from it and I wasn’t showing her bits and pieces as we went along. This was Dec. 22,” Cameron said. “She bawled for four hours. She kept trying to get her shit back together so she could tell me specific reactions, and then she’d just tear up and start crying again. Avatar: Fire and Ash will be longer than Avatar: The Way of Water
The first Avatar was quite long, with a running time of 2 hours and 42 minutes, but Avatar: The Way of Water surpassed it, going on for 3 hours and 12 minutes. Now, Cameron has confirmed that Avatar: Fire and Ash will be even longer.

Speaking with Empire, Cameron said, “In a nutshell, we had too many...

‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Expands Storyline as James Cameron Teases Longer Runtime
James Cameron
James Cameron has revealed that Avatar: Fire and Ash, the upcoming third installment in the Avatar franchise, will surpass the runtime of The Way of Water, which ran for three hours and 12 minutes. The director explained that an overflow of ideas during production led to the decision to shift part of the story to the next film.

“In a nutshell, we had too many great ideas packed into act one of movie two,” Cameron told Empire magazine. “The [film] was moving like a bullet train, and we weren’t drilling down enough on character. So I said, ‘Guys, we’ve got to split it.’” As a result, he confirmed, “movie three will actually be a little bit longer than movie two.”

Cameron first introduced the title Fire and Ash at D23 in August 2024. While no footage was shown at the time, concept art offered glimpses of new elements, including massive airships,...

James Cameron Says ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Will ‘Be a Little Bit Longer’ Than ‘The Way of Water’: ‘We Had Too Many Great Ideas Packed Into Act One of Movie Two’
Image
Better make it a large popcorn, because James Cameron’s next “Avatar” film, “Fire and Ash,” will be even longer than 2022’s “The Way of Water,” which clocked in at three hours and 12 minutes.

In a recent sitdown with Empire, Cameron said he and his writers developed too much material for “The Way of Water,” and when production began, had to move some of the story from that movie into its sequel, “Fire and Ash.”

Avatar: Fire And Ash Concept Art Makes A Splash As James Cameron Confirms It Will Be Longest Avatar Movie Yet
Image
James Cameron's Avatar movies have proven to be extremely divisive, but no matter how you feel about him devoting such a huge chunk of his career to the series, seeing Pandora on the big screen remains quite the spectacle. From lush jungles to blue skies and, in 2022's The Way of Water, sweeping oceans, the planet is visually breathtaking.

However, when Avatar: Fire and Ash takes us to the home of the Mangkwan Clan (a.k.a. the Ash Clan), we'll explore the Ash Village, a location that's vastly different to what we've grown used to seeing in these movies.

That doesn't mean we're leaving Pandor's oceans behind, though, something that's evident from a newly revealed piece of concept art showing Lo'ak riding an ilu. Then again, perhaps this was to be expected.

'Avatar's Sam Worthington To Lead Harlan Coben's 'I Will Find You'
Image
Actor Sam Worthington is about to enter another universe you know and love — but this time with fewer blue humanoids. The prolific television creator and novelist, Harlan Coben, has found his latest leading man in the Avatar actor. And his next limited series adaptation sounds like a real emotional doozy, which is fitting. According to Variety, Worthington will play a character from Coben's novel, I Will Find You, and it focuses on a heartbreaking, twisting tale of false imprisonment and a thrillingly harrowing family mystery.

It falls in line with Coben's work — 12 of his 37 novels have been adapted for film and television, and frequently feature unresolved murders and/or events from the past coming back to haunt their protagonist. He is beloved for his dramatic twists and turns, and has been heavily involved in bringing his novels to the small screen for Netflix. The same can be said of I Will Find You,...

'It's A Gift:' Zoe Saldana Reflects On Her 26 Year Avatar Commitment
Image
Zoe Saldana was in her 20s when she made her debut as Neytiri in 2009's Avatar. The actor recently reflected on her time with the franchise and the 26-year commitment she made to James Cameron's vision.

"I was 28 when I did the first movie and I think, if all goes to plan, I'll be 53 [or] 54 for the very fifth one and last one," she said during an appearance on Deadline's The Actor's Side video series. "It's a gift to be able to revisit a character that has given me so much, to revisit a place that has been so magical. Not just for me, but for so many people in the world. We're talking about communities in the Amazon who were able to see Avatar 1, and they were moved by the stories that Jim was saying and how they felt represented in the story that Jim was conveying. That's beautiful...
