Beverly Michaels(1928-2007)

Sultry, husky-voiced American leading lady of the 1950s, often in hard-boiled roles. She started as a fashion model at the age of nine. By the age of sixteen, she worked as a chorus girl at Billy Rose's Diamond Horseshoe. She also starred in two films made by low-budget director Hugo Haas, who later found a replacement for her in Cleo Moore. Her somewhat unconventional features may have limited her audience appeal.
