He was cast as Tootles in Hook. El regreso del capitan Garfio (1991) after the original choice, Richard Attenborough, declined the role as he was busy directing Chaplin (1992).

His scenes in Travesuras de una bruja (1971) wound up on the cutting room floor before the film was originally released.

Malet was cremated at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. His ashes were sprinkled into the Pacific Ocean.
