Trivia
Made his first films for the anthropology department of his former alma mater, Columbia University. Taught at the Harry Alan Potamkin Film School, 1933-34. Subsequently directed documentaries for the Rockefeller Foundation's Commisssion on Human Relations. Headed his own film unit at the Office of War Information during World War II. After the war, active as editor and director of avant-garde experimental films.
