Brother of John Laurinaitis aka Johnny Ace.

With Road Warrior Hawk, became the first tag team to win the tag team "Triple Crown" (the WWF, NWA, AWA tag team championships)

He and the late Mike Hegstrand got the name "The Road Warriors" and the idea for their spiked shoulder pads from the Mel Gibson movie, Mad Max 2: el guerrero de la carretera (1981).

His son, James, is currently a standout Captain in The NFL for The New Orleans Saints. He at one time was a standout linebacker for The Ohio State University. (marzo de 2016)

The book talks about the rise of The Road Warriors, shares funny stories of life on the road, and offers candid behind-the-scenes accounts of the wrestling industry.

Suffered a major injury to his lower back in 1992, which caused Animal to cease wrestling until he had recovered.

In his autobiography, Animal recalled the days when he and Hawk began their training in wrestling. The gym where they trained, was in a basement in a run down building. The ring they used, was partly pushed up against the wall and many injuries resulted. Animal said that to this day, he still has chipped bone in one of his elbows, after being thrown against the brick wall whilst in the ring.

The Legion of Doom - or the Road Warriors - are regarded as one of the best tag teams in the wrestling industry.

Animal - along with his tag team partner Hawk - would have been given the WWE tag team titles around May 1991. This didn't happen, due to Hawk being reprimanded and he and Animal being suspended from the company.
