Two owners of detergent businesses decide to join forces, marrying their children. But their kids do not want others to decide on their future and make a plan.

Byzantium, 14th century. Young Stratis Karla returns with his mother to "down country", determined to avenge the death of his father and recover the family property which has abused the lord Mavrolykos. However, the submarines of Mavrolikos drive him out of the plain and he resorts to the neighboring "upper country", asking for help from the lord Kallergis. Kallergis' daughter, Iliongnetini, raised in a monastery and ordered to marry his son Mavrolykos, Markos, falls in love with Stratis. The death of Mavrolykos facilitate things and an eyewitness of the assassination of his father Stratis, Chronis Chagas, persuaded to submit to justice. Stratis is now turning against Markos.
