- After his brother is brutally murdered by the infamous fight club champion Thug, Finley his younger brother vows to find the elusive killer and personally avenge his brother's death. - This is a story of an old black family of vampires living in Los Angeles under the radar. The vampires are Xavier Gains, sister Daniella Gains and wild card cousin, Barry Styles. The story revolves around these characters and the humans they are attracted to. As for Xavier, his love for a woman, Marisa Childs, led him to kidnap her from her husband, brainwash her and eventually initiate her into the fold. Yet through all this Marisa would not let him kill her husband, Douglas Childs as he is doing his best to bring his wife back. Not only is Douglas' wife trying to keep him alive, so is Daniella who is infatuated with Douglas.
- LOG LINE: A young black couple and their roommate, a hapless middle-aged doctor from India, are on the verge of eviction, when they hatch a brilliant business plan that forces them to overcome their prejudices in the process. OVERVIEW: "The Root of Things" is a coming of age story centered around a group of roommates trying to find themselves in Los Angeles. Set in the mid-90s, our film is a social commentary told through each character's point of view, touching on relationships, drug abuse, religion, economic disparity, and LGBTQ rights. Although we tackle difficult topics, we also incorporate several comedic moments. You can best describe our film as Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing" meets "Dear White People" with a Bollywood twist.
