Amazing acting, Especially Dianne Lane. This is not for sissies, this is a "Manchurian Candidate" in reverse. The "villain" is clever, incredibly clever. The politics are current , think "Groyper " credo on steroids. The art world is certainly mirroring the real world, "Civil War, One Battle After Another, "After the party", and now Anniversary.

Its ok , slightly better than most, a bit P,C, and a little derivative and very predictable. But the only reason I am reviewing it is some chucklehead compared it to "The Wire".
This is where I had to act.... The wire is a historical document. In 500 years if you wanted to see the state of society in big city America, you would watch "The Wire" It covers civics, the media, politicians police, gangsters, education and the ZEITGEIST . While it tells you the condition of all these institutions, it also presents 40 to 50 of the most compelling characters in ANY narrative. The Barksdales Prop Joe, Omar, Stringer, McNulty, Bunk. Ziggy, Micael Lee, Weebae, Snoop, bubbles, and SOOOO many others. These characters were not only fleshed out, you loved these people, You rooted for the bad guys, and the cops. The wire is in a class by itself IT WILL NEVER BE EQUALED Worldwide it is in the top 3 series ever made PUHLEEEEZE do not compare blue lights to The Wire.

The bench mark is "The King" with Tim Chalamet and the incredible Joe Edgerton, and the ever reliable Sean Harris.
You need Grime , grit, blood and guts, a script that doesn't treat us like idiots, you need LESS DEI inclusion and more medieval diction, and grammar. You need skulduggery, and backstabbing because that's what was going on at the time.
. The production values are fine (it is the BBC), but its all a bit neat and tidy on set, the people are neat and tidy and coiffed, and that's nonsense !!! A big FYI script writers, ....William was NOT affable he was a raging askwhole with something to prove, don't whitewash this part of the story.
This is an excellent story and you bollixed it up , I got halfway through the first episode and gave up in disgust.
