I don't know what the other reviewers here were watching, but I found the 2 episodes I've watched so far to be very engaging, funny, and real. I adore Sean Hayes, and Linda Lavin does a good turn as his rather overbearing mother, but they do need to tone down her character a bit, because she's too much of a cliché'. I like the work ensemble, and except for 'the boss', it feels real to me, as I am familiar with that field of work, and I can totally understand the frustrations. I see almost no similarity between Sean's Will & Grace character and the character in this series. Whereas we've seen this particular plot line before (single dad raising his adolescent child )there is enough fresh material in this to keep me interested for quite some time.

I have faith that this is a show that will grow, and get better...and I'm rooting for it to succeed! :)

This movie sat in our cabinet for about 6 months. Tonight, we decided to watch it..my husband, 20 year old son, and I.

I swear, there was NOTHING on TV worth watching, so we decided to finally take it out, and give it a try.

We watched the entire movie, beginning to end. Nobody in the room said anything. I started thinking about how we COULD have been watching old reruns of Benson, instead. Horror movies are one of my favorite genres...so it's not like I didn't 'get it'.

This movie will follow you around for the rest of your life like a very bad smell.

When it popped out of the DVD player, my husband removed it from the tray, we all looked at each other, and agreed...we threw it in the garbage.

But it's still in the house, because there's no garbage pick-up tomorrow. :( That's the REAL horror.

Firstly, I buy every movie that Adrien Brody is in. This way, given his usual 'un-flawed' performance, I won't be disappointed if the movie sucks. This movie did not suck. Add to that the fact that Forrest Whittaker also starred, it was win-win. I have come to trust the fact that Mr. Brody is going to turn out an unforgettable performance in whatever role he undertakes. My husband has come to expect the same .

I am rather surprised at the number of reviews here that found the movie's entire premise to be totally unbelievable, since it was based on real events. Those who already knew this fact, but still found grave fault with the movie for exaggerating the violent aspect of the experiment's confrontations...I'll agree that the physical violence was exaggerated, but after having read the story of the actual Stanford Experiment, I feel that the real violence, the emotional toll taken on the participants was actually downplayed. This may in part be due to the producers wanting to hedge their bets for bringing in box office numbers to help with the distribution of the movie. Who knows...

Had this movie delved into the emotional damage suffered by the unfortunate subjects of the experiment, it would have been a completely different sort of film experience..one that would have needed to convey that this atrocity actually happened somewhere, and why more wasn't done to expose the outcome.

Many people in these boards continually revile American copies of foreign films. Certainly, some suffer in the reinterpretation, but many of these original films would have gone completely unnoticed, since they get very limited distribution in this country. There are myriad films I've learned about and enjoyed immensely only because I saw the American version of it first. If you like the American version well enough, most will go on to see the original, and go on to form their opinion regarding their preference from there. So the foreign version thus will be given a second life thanks to the American 'copy'..tribute might be a better choice of terminology in many cases.

So I loved the movie. Might I love it a little less after seeing 'Das Experiment'? I doubt it. I know it will be profoundly different, but I'll always remember those performances given by at least two fine actors in this version..and I'm happier still that the mail came today, and therein appeared my copies of 'Splice' and 'Predators'. =)
