Wishing Well is not outstanding in story material but very enjoyable nonetheless. One of the really good things about it is the appearance of Ernest Borgnine, who at 92, is an believable person. An excellent actor (I loved him in Marty) who has been in many movies and on TV, and here he is again with a good role, not just a quick scene. It is also nice to see Tempestt Bledsoe, who has matured well in her looks and talent from the Cosby Show. It was such a pleasure to see her in this. I think many of us would like to do this, at least we feel it sometime in our life. To get out of the life we live and into someplace simple and loving and caring. I think both lead characters are written well. Even some of the music help the story along. I wouldn't advise anyone to watch it if you like reality heavy and deep subjects that tear at the heart and mind. This is just one to sit back and enjoy.

I really enjoyed this movie, and especially seeing Graham Greene and Tom Jackson together again. Loved them in Medicine River and this is basically another good pairing. It is the story of the Indian tribe trying to bring back children who had been taken from the reservation when their parents were gone. As usual, the government thought it best to take them from their heritage because they did not have a mother or father. It shows the closeness of those on the reservation as they step in and help to bring a sense of family and heritage to these children growing up without it. It is difficult sometimes, as the movie shows, for those who remember only foster homes in a different life. To learn to accept the culture of their people, it becomes a challenge of patience to the older ones who work to impart that culture into the lives of these children/teens. Making it harder for this particular teen, is the fact that his grandfather is partly to blame for his mother's death. I enjoy the closeness that comes eventually in this group of people as they work with the teens involved. It is well worth watching.

I only saw a couple of episodes and cassette taped one. It had such great, funny characters. Wish they would at least put it on a DVD or bring it back for a short rerun on some of the oldies stations. Wondering who one would contact to see it get done. Never saw Paul Sand much other than in this. I loved Jack Gilford. He is an excellent character actor. Also liked the man who played the character who was in charge of seeing that everyone was in their places on time. He was not listed,but have seen him in lots of other things. Just don't know his name. I loved the premise. Good clean comedy series' are very scarce these days.
