Not as good as the second. And possibly the first one as well. The major problem of this instalment is his side-kick. We don't need a character that serves as the talking head of Art. We need no talking at all, that was one of the "charms" of his persona. And in any case, all the big horror icons are lone gunmen, a helping hand simply takes away their juju.
The gore is fine (but again, not as inventive or brutal as in part 2 and one particular scene is a rip-off from the first movie), the atmosphere not as creepy (compare for example with the Halloween store of the 2nd film) and also the Christmas theme drags on for too long - I like Art in his clown outfit, dressed as Santa once again, strips away his uniqueness.
However, you will have fun if you enjoyed the previous installments.
