I dont understand why I love this show so much, I have a tendency to avoid gay shows/movies.
When I was a teen all gay films were about death and hate crime, suicide, they all felt like slasher films, and now, watching this, its like healing my teenage gay years.
Very lighthearted, yet touching very important topics that I hardly see in gay films/shows that nowadays transitioned into only hunks and twinks exists and are protagonists and only young.
But now theres a show about older gay men: body insecurty, religion, getting older, one even talks about feeling he never had a big romance and felt unloved, yet the tone is not that of tragedy nor cruel, insanely crazy for a show that is a sitcom with a a laugh track. I really hope it lasts at least a couple of seasons.

The episode 7 feels like the season finale, the rest of the episodes are beyond garbage, like garbage is too much of a good name, some people may eat garbage, anyone could eat garbage to survive, my dogs love garbage, this is beyond garbage, my dogs would puke it and need a lot of vet appointments, the acting of everyone besides joe locke is fine, Joe locke gets trashed in the last 2 episodes when compared to everybody else, they didnt take care of him, or idk, but his line delivery is off, his tone is off, everything regarding acting is off and trash and beyond garbage, I wish the story was about witched without forcing a gay character that is badly acted, the writting wasnt that bad, it wasnt a terribly written queer character but a terribly acted one, CRINGE.
This film feels like part of a new trend in cinema where we're meant to empathize with wealthy characters. Unfortunately, the pacing in the first half is really slow, with a bit too much setup. I found myself struggling to stay engaged during that part. At two hours long, it could have benefited from tighter editing.
That said, I enjoyed it more than the first Smile. While the ending was predictable, it was executed in a really fun way, especially with the creature's makeup, which reminded me of Society. It had the vibe of what The Substance aimed for but didn't quite achieve, either due to budget or vision. This is a movie where having a millionaire superstar actually made sense for the story, unlike others like Trap, where the inclusion of a pop star felt unnecessary.
Overall, while I loved the ending, the sluggish first half dragged the experience down for me.
