Lolita Lobosco is brilliant, kindly, empathetic and unbelievably perceptive about people and every detail she looks into. She had no oppositional "boss' like so many detective shows do and the show depicts a city without the hierarchical social order so many others take for granted, e.g., when the superiors tell a detective to go easy on prominent rich people. Bari is enormously egalitarian, democratic and joyful and its total absence of puritan attitudes is a breath of fresh air.
The acting is amazing as well, and the romantic and domestic relations depicted seem very genuine. Each person who appears, whether a suspect or a grocer, a grieving mother or a decent father is among the most skillful actors I've ever seen Ten stars.

I was disappointed that the whole show is dubbed in Spanish and I cannot override it by any means even though II put English as the preferred language everywhere I could in the programming. I really like Aldus Hodge having seen him playing a great roe in the TV series, Leverage. It is also really oo bad we have a Spanish voice emitted by him, as I recall he had a very distinctive and outstanding voice. Also as another reviewer noted, the whole series is filmed in a way that is far too darker us to be able to perceive a lot of what is going on. Still I enjoy the way the plot develops and even though it is serial killer standard fare, it's still worth seeing.
I saw two English language versions of The Bridge before I got to this'd one and there is no comparison. The intricacies of the investigation are stellar but what makes this so superior was its treatment of the human relationships Saga goes through. In the English versions she is just weirdly cold and unknowable. Here, each of her quirks has a deep origination and motivation. And her relationship with her final partner is outstanding in this respect.
Each of the seasons is a real winner and I would recommend it to anyone who appreciate richly complicated plots and detective intelligence. And the acting is superb.
