Creepy, atmospheric mystery horror movie based on the video game 'Until Dawn'. It's not a retelling of the game, instead it has its own story.
Good production values, well executed, good camera work, haunting original score.
It's more for young viewers. The cast is solid and the characterizations are ok, but not that deep.
It's an entertaining movie and you can see, that the director/screenwriter had a lot of fun and love in horror movies and making this film.
Peter Stormare is always good and delivers.
Fun ride for horror fans with some references to Cabin in the Woods, The Evil Dead.
If you like jump scares, this movie is recommended to you.

Too convoluted with too many ideas and sideplots. The writers couldn't decide which way to go: comedy, drama, gang action movie, satire, parody.
Lacks suspense or the feeling that our two main protagonists might lose something.
A lot of scenes just feel wrong from the motivations or the pacing, a lot of isn't credible.
What you have at the end is an entertaining no-brainer with a lot of deus ex machina story telling, some stylish soundtrack and photography, a cute kitten but gets as fastly forgotten as it started.
All in all too disappointing as it doesn't take its characters serious or rational. Some things happen without real motivation, they happen to keep the story rolling and not finish the movie after 20 minutes.
The end comes with some twists out of nowhere and some romance and love interest stuff... well, as I said in the beginning: too much different ideas and stirred together but the different parts don't really fit together and don't result in a homogenic dish.
Loud, mediocre entertainment that you can watch if you're a fan of these guys or if you don't have anything else to watch.
Otherwise skip this one.

Solid aftermath episode.
Ellie is here for the first time in this second season more likeable and human than the episodes before.
Scene stealer is Isabela Merced. Every scene she's in, she's great.
Some changes compared to the game: the game was fast paced and continued directly after the shocking event. Here, the episode continues three months later.
The relationship between Ellie and Dina was more bold in the game than here.
The episode takes its time, is beautifully shot, has some nice landscapes and road trip vibes, teases us a new group of religious survivors, but uses their scenes to show us that the mission of Ellie and Dina won't be easy against the powerful and relentless W. L. F.
Good episode that takes its time and seperates itself from the source material and tries to stand on its own feet. Apprecheated and recommended.
