Anwar Says: A nostalgic story for the audience of 55 plus , sticking to basics, no non-sense and simultaneously revealing some facts, which at least I didn't know. For instance, the suicide bombers made a dry run on Mr. V P Singh before assassinating Rajiv Gandhi or they had Plan-B ready. Another distinguishing feature is that real names with real identities were used and I am surprised that in 2025 , censorship authorities have passed and this shows the brilliance of Nagesh Kukanoor.

Two more commendable features of this web series are casting and cinematography. Amit Sial as SIT chief is top class, as always but two more actors are worth following are Sahil Vaid as SP Amit and One Eyed Jack ( Marlon Brando fame)-Sivrasan played by Shafeeq Mustafa, the blue eyed boy of LTTE chief Prabhakaran. Shooting in the actual roads and lanes and making a 90 days hunt with landline phones, fax and no internet and latest gadgets look like a dream in the present context.

Nagesh has said in an interview that One thinks that he knows about Rajiv Gandhi assassination but he doesn't. Watch it and then you would know, he is right.

Anwar Says: A movie backed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao and Anurag Kashyap have more than incentive to watch and this Karan Tejpal debut film showed enough potential in the beginning. A completely unusual story, a child stolen from Station platform and two brothers, one inclined and other forced to help the hysterical mother.

Abhishek Banerjee has been offered a role of lifetime and he delivered , changing from his comic image. Younger brother Shubham Vardan is idealistic and manages his brother to help the mother, Mia Maeizer, who is the soul of the movie. Her grief and pain look so realistic with her dialect of Hindi mixed Bengali makes it distinct.

The movie is disturbing and in spite of brave and noteworthy efforts of Director and actors, may not have a long lasting effect on audiences. Particularly the climax was a hush-hush and the place where all the mob lynching takes place, doesn't look real. 3 out of 5 from me.

Anwar Says: Validation is denied and this explains this unusual webseries in one line. Based on Israeli series Magpie, meaning police informer or Mukhbir, would keep on haunting you even after you finish, only because of one character- Ashu played by Roshan Mathew. His character written in this series is a case study, whether you call him Psychopath or a Manipulator.

It's Ashu's story all over and other characters throughout the series just keep revolving around him. He is vulnerable and fragile but fatal simultaneously. His desperation to get validation from his elder brother is so well written that the script writers left the other characters and even Mohit Raina doesn't impress. One more thing, I liked in this webseries that Goa has been shown as Goa and not only beaches, shacks and parties.

A bit disturbing and you may not like to binge watch but Sonyliv always comes with something unprecedented and manipulation would be understood in a different way.
