I really wanted to like this movie, but it ultimately fell flat for me. While visually striking, the sustained body horror was overwhelming and difficult to sit through.
The film relied heavily on long, drawn-out scenes and panning shots of semi-naked bodies, workout routines, and lingering stares, with very little dialogue to drive the story forward. While I appreciate the underlying message about aging gracefully and the impossible beauty standards imposed by Hollywood and society, the execution felt underdeveloped.
At over two hours, the runtime was excessive-what it tried to say could have been accomplished in 90 minutes. Unfortunately, the lack of character development made it hard to connect with the story. Characters escalated their actions too quickly, which might have been intentional, but it felt unconvincing and left the film feeling untethered.
Though the voyeuristic nature of the film might have been a deliberate commentary, it missed the mark for me. I'm still puzzled by the high praise it has received. Despite its ambitions, it left me feeling disappointed.

This series is an absolute feast for anyone intrigued by bold reinterpretations of timeless tales. While it takes liberties with Greek mythology, it's worth noting that mythology itself is far from fixed or factual-it's always been about storytelling, metaphors, and perspectives.
Criticism of the show's departure from traditional societal roles seems misplaced; after all, Greek myths have always been malleable and ripe for reinterpretation. This modern take embraces that flexibility, telling the story it wants to tell without apology.
Some viewers have suggested the series pushes an agenda-specifically, an anti-religion one-but my takeaway was quite different. If anything, it leans toward an anti-establishment message, which feels refreshingly relevant in today's world.
From the opening moments, I was hooked. While I'll admit it's sometimes hard to stick with a series all the way through, this one kept me engaged and entertained from start to finish. It's a fresh, compelling, and thoroughly enjoyable take on age-old stories, and I highly recommend giving it a watch.
