I am Korean. I wish all Koreans watch this series. You will understand your roots better. This series can help us understand ourselves even though we are all different.

Korea lost its freedom and 1/10 of its population was wiped out by the colonization. But, with time within a couple more generations, this excruciating agony will be forgotten. That's human history. But, today, right now, it is something people cannot and should not readily just forget as Jewish people do not forget about what the Nazis have done. It will be remembered for a while.

Korea has come a long way to be powerful enough to tell its own story. What Korea needs to do is not seek revenge but build its own power to defend itself from future atrocities. Be the country that can build B-29, not a country that hallucinates itself from the repetition of pre-existing knowledge in a fierce competition.

The animation quality is awesome. The illustration of water was especially amazing with its constant movement and translucency. But more than the animation, the movie contains a story that many viewers can relate to. Many of us grow up under a certain expectation of parents. Not just immigrants but there are millions of families who struggle with generation gaps in values and goals. And, the movie beautifully portrays the pursuit of subjective truth and everlasting love of family that we all deeply understand. Disney has had movies with diverse themes and yet this is the first movie that deals with the modern American families. I applaud Disney for always portraying the humanity.

The most beautiful script. It's one-of-a-kind. Certainly the best Korean drama.

I am Korean, and I believe this is the most honest depiction of my country in all aspects. This is South Korea at its raw state with both things I am proud of and I am not proud of.
