This film, although made before i was born is still one of my favorite films, Sir John Mills shows his best ever performance, i don't need to tell you the story as you've read the reviews above but the ending is still one of the most powerful i have ever seen, and humbles me to know its only words, fantastic.
I got hold of a copy of this film but was told that it was a New unreleased version of the film due out in 2004. I quickly saw i was conned. But i watched this film with complete and utter disbelief. The film was so bad it has to be seen. story line was drivel, the acting was poor ( although they had very terrible script to work with) the action scenes were inconsisitant of each other ( i.e a CLOBBERING Scene was done by the camera spinning ala Batman 1960s style then another scene had people being shot and you see the bullets hitting the chest, were they avoiding or not avoiding showing violent scenes im still left wondering)
reed richards , could they not find a guy with grey hair or even make the grey hair believeable. the stretching scenes must have been him holding a broom handle with a long sleeve with a glove popped on the end.
sue storm , the invisible scenes were like a abbott and costello effects and she seemed to have nothing to do except make a suits for everyone for no reason AND THEY BLOODY WORE THESE RIDICULOUS SPANDEX!!
jonny storm was pointless unless he was a flame then it was an obvious cartoon spliced into this film and very cheaply done too.
ben grimm. perhaps the most human of all the charactors, at least the make up was ok for him.
victor doom, god knows why he was dr doom the costume was ok the person forget it.
the jeweler what was the point of puttin this pointless person in this film, i know just when it was bad they had to make it worse.
If i was to make this this film again out the actors out the script out the special effects out the make up out the story then go out to lunch get drunk then write it again on the back of a beermat and use the rest of the drunks from the pub to help me make this film I know i could do better
watch it i beg you, you will be glad to watch any old spiderman series again or tekwar and enjoy them.
I love a superhero movie and i will treasure this film forever with the knowledge that nothing could ever be this bad.
