The first Texas Chainsaw Massacre film explored very violent and raw horror, while its sequel did something completely opposite, exploring much more of a comedy with hints of horror. However, the third film is nothing special. It's just another generic slasher and a bad sequel. The film could very well be simpler, without exploring new things like the previous ones, but even by doing something generic it has the capacity to entertain. The death scenes that could very well support the entire plot are actually terrible and not exciting. In short, we have a forgettable work, with nothing remarkable and an unpleasant experience.

The sequel to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is nothing like its predecessor. The theme is completely different and seeks the complete opposite of what the first film presents. Here, instead of following a realistic and frightening horror, we follow a story that explores humor much more.

There is a radical change that makes this sequel very different from the previous one. The comedy factor completely eliminates the rawness and reality that had been presented previously. Even though there is nothing supernatural in the story, it is still very far from reality. While before we had a well-executed search for realism, here we have a very well-realized search for playfulness, without going into fantasy themes, as is done in A Nightmare on Elm Street, for example. The humor delivers scenes that would be unlikely to happen in the first film. Actions and dialogues completely deviate from all that realism from before.

Eroticization is a point that makes The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 a different, but brilliant sequel. Now, the film not only plays with horror, but also has great moments focused on enormous sexual tension created between two characters. The most erotic scenes arise not only from comedy, but also from horror. At the same time that the film makes these scenes crude, it also manages to create fear and anguish created by the doubt of not knowing what to expect after that moment. It is precisely in these scenes that we have the highest points of the film.

This film proves that it is not necessary to follow the same standards as the previous film to make a good sequel. Completely straying from all the realism of the first film, the second explores the complete opposite and accomplishes this in an excellent way.

Over the Top is an extremely simple film. Its enormous narrative simplicity is what makes it so special. He ventures into action and drama in a very interesting way. The entire development of the father and son relationship throughout the film is very well constructed. The characters have a very troubled relationship throughout the beginning of the story, but as time passes we see this relationship becoming better and better and the sincerity that is conveyed in the love between the two is beautiful. When the film seeks to build some action scenes, it does so masterfully. Everything around the film is extremely fun and manages to move with dramatic scenes involving the family.
