Acting is good, especially Temple, but, other than that, there's no plot. At least, in the classical sense. Just a series of events. A slice-of-life, but a melancholic one. I will say no more in case you wanna see it. It's better if you don't know nothing about it because, at least, it will have some kind of mystery (emphasis on "kind of"). Otherwise, it'll be just plain boring.
Since I'm obligated to write more 220 characters, I'll explain why plotless stories are bad: because it's cheap; it's easy; everyone can do it.
I just gave this one a 6, which, in my ratings means "barely watchable," as I said before, because of the acting. Temple's interaction with Nivola is what made me stick until the end, otherwise, I probably wouldn't have finished it.

A barely watchable movie destined to be forgotten. That's why I called this a period peace, not in the sense of an "historical drama", but as what Harold Bloom called period pieces: works that were hyped in their time but are or will be forgotten thereafter. It's clearly what Body Heat is: a clearly so-so movie that due to the trend of neo-noirs and the sex became hyped.
And the acting when it's not awful is just average. It's been a long time since I saw another Kathleen Turner movie so I don't remember if she improved, but her acting is so awful that's on par with Ariane from The Year of the Dragon. Most of the time while I was watching this movie I was thinking if I should stop or keep on going. Of course, you can have fun watching it, but it's clearly disposable entertainment and not art.
I think it's the worst movie I've ever seen. The acting is bad, it's trashy, it's not funny and it has no value.
