It's summer time. The multiplex theaters are filled with tons of shiny upbeat, fast paced popcorn movies. One movie released for a short period this past summer stood alone. That movie was called Open Water. This film was greeted with very disparate reviews. The ones who hated it usually said it was too slow and or depressing. The ones who loved it appreciated the stark realism. You can put me in the latter category.

There are certainly moments of terror in Open Water. The scenes with the sharks are definitely chilling. But these scenes are not the essence of the film. The heart of this film is the horror of being left alone with no escape. Total isolation. Total abandonment. That is what is TRULY scary if you ask me. The sharks are just the icing on the cake...

Open Water is a powerful movie with a very poignant coda. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates realism in movies.

Camp Blood 2 never should have been made. I have no clue where they found the actors at but it was very obvious that they didn't know what the heck they were doing. The directors tried to spice the movie up with a nude shower scene and peirced nipples......big friggin deal the movie still sucks!! The plot is very un-original and the special effects are crap!!! Stay far away from!!!!

Everything about Campfire Stories is horrible, there's not one good thing about it. The acting and the actors are just plain stupid (except David Johansen), the special effects are crap and the stories are the dumbest ones known to man! And please, please, please don't confuse the legendary Misfits with the ever so crappy Newfits!!!!!!!!
