I don't know why this movie had so bad critics. OK, it may be a little bit long, but that's not the point. I found this movie great and, I confess, I cried at the end. It seems that Kevin Costner likes this post - apocalyptical movies. I found "The Postman" even better than "Waterworld", but that doesn't mean that "Waterworld" was bad.
The most important thing, which maybe not all people found out, in this movie is that the Postman, even if he told a lie, by saying that there was a new government and a new President, only to have something to eat, he gave the people hope and something which is worth to fight for. By telling them that there is a new government, he gave them the power to build up a new world.
Well done Mr. Costner!

When I saw this movie I was fascinated by it. This story is told in a such fantastic and sentimental way. I cried tears. This fantastic characters, this amazing pictures captured by the camera and this heart moving music, make of this movie a real masterpiece. Try to see this movie!
I'm not sure what's about the movies of Wim Wenders. When I saw the first time "Der Himmel über Berlin" aka "Wings of desire", I thought to my self: "Nice movie, but what else?". I tried to capture the magic and the atmosphere of the movie but I could find it. A few days later I thought about it again and then I felt this unexplainable attraction of this movie. The same way it was with "Paris, Texas".
Only a few days later I understood the message, it's a kind of philosophical point which is the fascination for this movie. Any way, it's a good movie and the music is very characteristic for the scenes of the movie, for example when Travis walks in the desert.
