By this point, only four episodes are out, but it's already blown me away so much that I had to rave about it. Everything, from the directing to the soundtrack to the writing, is beautifully haunting. The cast is packed with talent, but Kim Yoo-jung completely steals the show. Her subtle eye acting left me, as a viewer, just as hypnotized as her victims. I'm so glad she was cast in this role, and even more glad we're finally getting an unhinged, irreparable female lead in the K-drama scene, it's so refreshing and rare. Overall, an incredibly solid work that deserves every bit of the acclaim it's been getting.
Dear X honestly left me speechless. It's not just a drama, it's an emotional storm that hits you when you least expect it. Baek Ah-jin isn't just a villain, she's a mirror of everything we hide behind a smile. Her story is messy, painful and so real that you can't help but feel for her.
Every episode makes you question what's right, who's telling the truth and how far people will go just to be loved or seen. The writing is sharp, the emotions stay with you and the performances are unforgettable.
It's dark, beautiful and painfully human, the kind of show that doesn't leave your mind even after it ends.

I have to say Kim Yoojung is one talented actress. Her portrayal of a Sociopath was so good, it gave me chills! The other casts were great too, especially the child actress playing Baek Ajin. The plot seems really interesting, the pacing is fast and engaging. Cinematography is splendid, I found myself pausing the screen a lot to stare. I just finished 4 eps and rushed here to write a review. Its been so long since a Kdrama has me this invested. As a thriller fan, it might be too early to say, but I think I've found my favourite kdrama !!
I have never seen a k-drama this intense before- It is unapologetic, unhinged and kept morally challenging me with each episode. The characters were so well written- repulsive, corrupt, greedy, cowardice. In the present k-drama world of justice and vigilante shit, "Dear X" is a huge middle finger loud and proud of its nature. Its like us viewers are so used to the same cookie cutter heroine's that we cant digest anyone that doesnt wear cute cardigans and does aegyo's. Kim Yoo Jung instead shows us how its done. Her portrayal of the female lead is raw and vulnerable. There were many scenes throughout the series that gave me ultimate goosebumps. She threw herself quite the expensive pity party that came at the lives of others surrounding her and yet i couldnt find a single dirt on her. The weaving between the scenarios switching while bringing in new characters were shakily stitched. The finale could have ended on a better note. This is one such drama where you feel the frustration build up through your entire body but you absolutely have no one to put the blame on. Its disgusting, makes your skin scrawl and makes you virtually want to strangle the characters. Watch this, stay blessed and have a good day.
Outstanding work by the complete cast.
Kim You Jung a veteran actress has once again proved she is a great actor by bringing Baek Ah Jin to life The child actors have also done a very good job A different and fresh concept, has kept me engaged in the drama since the first episode itself.
Kim Young Dae has also done a good job as Jun Seo.
