Simon Cowell: El próximo acto

So good and well done!!! This series had me glued. I finished it in one day. It was nice to see Lauren & Eric. It also showed how much hard work he puts into this process. I loved watching the whole process and truly hope he considers doing a season 2. I hope the band puts out songs soon. They all have great voices.

The only genuinely interesting moments in this documentary were the glimpses into Simon Cowell's personal life, watching him interact with his family and seeing who he is behind the TV persona. What really struck me was how sad it was to see a man with such low self-esteem and such obvious struggles with self image. I was genuinely surprised; on TV he has always come across as confident, articulate and self-assured. It seems the industry has really swallowed up his sense of self perception. It is also a bit concerning considering he positions himself as a mentor for youth and young men. I always assumed the "cold" side of Simon was partly an act for television, but his comments about his stepson's graduation felt genuinely cold hearted and selfish. The very parts of the show that were meant to give insight into him actually ended up turning me off him completely.

Meanwhile, the boy band segments were dull and I honestly found myself fast-forwarding through most of that.

Overall, the documentary wasn't good and is a bore.

I've been watching everything Simon has ever done in the U. S. since the first season of American Idol. There were times I really disliked him on idol, but I believe he's mellowed while on America's Got Talent. I've not always agreed with him either and I didn't always agree with him while watching this- but for the most part I did. Example of disagreeing without spoilers is how many people made it into the band, although I understood why he did what he did. I did disagree with at least one boy he cut and one that stayed. I actually binge watched this in its entirety last night. So yes, I enjoyed it.

Putting together a new boy band is a huge risk. K-POP dominates the field these days and it's been a while since the days of One Direction. I hope it works for Simon and for the boys.

Other than that, we see Simon at two homes in America and one in Britain. The rich really do live differently. Gorgeous homes and furnishing abound. Chauffeured cars and being served meals. Pretty unreal.

I have always love Simon Cowell so I was excited to watch this. I especially loved this because it showed a softer side of Simon that I always guessed was there. And all my favorite boys made the band. It was fun to watch the journey of forming the band and Simon's process of choosing the right boys- Can't wait to hear their first single,

I really loved watching binge watching over one weekend. It was great to see so much talent on display, and as a parent myself, with a 17-year-old son, it really touched my heart seeing how proud the families were and just how talented all the contestants were.

The show captures not only the performances but also the emotions behind them, which makes it really enjoyable and easy to watch. Simon is Simon .. fun, sarcastic and straight to the point. Which adds a lot of entertainment.

A perfect weekend watch.
