In one episode Srica, who is played by Hrvoje Keckes, says : "Be realistic, as my son would say." This is a nod to another role of Keckes, Kazimir Hrastek, one of the main characters from cult Croatian sitcom "Bitange i princeze" whose catchphrase was "Be realistic." However, Marjan Srica can not be the father of Kazimir Hrastek, as Kazo's father, played by Damir Loncar in "Bitange i princeze", is named Domagoj Hrastek.
The title of the show is taken from a song by Prljavo Kazaliste. Same song plays during the opening of every episode.

A report by Human Rights Watch (then called Helsinki Watch) from 1986 described Yugoslavia as one of the most repressive communist countries in Europe.
According to the data of the World Bank, i.e. the World Development Report from 1989, the average inflation rate in Yugoslavia was as much as 57.2%, that's how bad it was. The Yugoslav dinar was worthless. After 1986, inflation got completely out of control and exceeded 100% per year, and by 1990 it was 1000% per year. At the end of the 80's, prices first doubled every year, and eventually multiplied tenfold.
