Watch only if you know Punjabi

Series has its highs and lows. Technically very well made, storytelling is not up to the mark. Lead actors have done justice to the role though. Watch only if you know Punjabi else you'll not get the essence of the characters. While the story is based on real events but somehow it could become relatable. Lot of characters had the chance to shine but they just managed to act their part. Music is gripping and I wish they could have used more of it so that people could establish a strong connection. The real events had lot more to it and I believe this could have been a chance to make it two part series but they rushed it to complete it in one part only.

Hero is Uday Chopra from Dhoom🤣🤣🤣🤣

Who is the boy? Looks like Uday Chopra from Dhoom. Zero acting skill he has. Overacting to bhar bhar kar.....A big disappointment.

Script is not good.

Supporting actor looks decent.

Dialogues are not good.

Too low in intensity.

No new content.

Girlfriend is too innocent and acted like hell.

Direction could habe been better.

Note - Canada ko Cennada ya Canneda bolne se kuch nahi badlega. Showing something like Indian becoming a gang member is not good. We have many recent incidents happening because of these gang wars. Please don't drag India into this. No one will appreciate by seeing Indian Gang member involvement in drugs or other nuisance.

Kanneda: A Gripping Tale of Dreams, Struggles, and Survival

"Kanneda" is a compelling crime drama set in 1990s Toronto, tracing the tumultuous journey of Nimma, a Punjabi singer portrayed by Parmish Verma. Fleeing the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Nimma seeks a fresh start in Canada but confronts systemic racism and societal challenges. His pursuit of success entangles him in the perilous world of gang culture. Verma's portrayal of Nimma is both authentic and captivating, capturing the essence of an immigrant's struggle and resilience. The series delves deep into themes of identity, ambition, and the sacrifices made for survival. While the pacing occasionally falters, the emotional depth and powerful performances make "Kanneda" a must-watch.

This is Cinema!

The fast paced show was thrilling to watch. Loved the cinematography and the performance of the actors. Emotionally, this worked too for me.

For people living abroad, the grey line between acceptance and resistance is evident in this series. Overall a good watch, highly recommend Kanneda. Arunoday Singh and Ranvir Shorey hit it out of the park.

Kanneda offers a glimpse of the immigrant experience. It is indeed is a thrilling watch that successfully blends suspense, action, and psychological depth. With minor refinements in pacing and character development, it has the potential to be an exceptional thriller. Recommended for fans of the genre looking for an intense and well-executed series.

A very good story told badly

I don't know why parmish German had such a shallow character all he jad to see was watch news of windy johal. He was a gangster a man who deserved no respect who was an apex predator, a person who killed people just on mood swings you don't see any of that character In the series. The director has failed to create a perfect environment. What looser the director must be who couldn't encash a real life gangster. There is absolutely no tension in the scenes, parish is also amateur actor his boss is really the actor you want . Anyone who doubts my review just search bindy johal news on YouTube and youbwill know the director and actor failed to portray life of a killer.

Kanneda - A Bold, Unfiltered Slice of Life!

If you're tired of the same old predictable storylines and are craving something raw, relatable, and refreshingly bold, the web series *Kanneda* is here to shake things up!

*Kanneda* isn't just a web series-it's a cultural conversation starter.

*Kanneda* dives deep into the complexities of modern life, tackling themes like ambition, relationships, and societal pressures. It's not your typical sugar-coated drama-it's raw, unfiltered, and unapologetically real.

The series seems to feature a diverse cast of characters, each with their own struggles and triumphs. Whether it's the underdog fighting for their dreams or the anti-hero making questionable choices, *Kanneda* promises to keep you hooked with its layered storytelling.

The creators have clearly put thought into every frame, making it a visual treat that complements its gripping narrative.

The supporting cast takes the cake

The premise is good but feels rushed.

We don't feel connected to the lead trio. We should have spent some time with them in the first episode. Could also be because they aren't ad great actors as their more experienced costars, but still there are few to no moments where we see any glimpses into their friendship and their life.

I don't know if this was a limitation from the platform or lack of vision from the creators, but this single problem makes the whole series look very shallow.

Similarly, not much is on the life in Canada. Nothing that makes it feel unique to Canada. This could have been based on any modern city in India.

Udta Punjab + Jannat + Once upon a time in Mumbai + Satya = Kannada.

On the other hand we spend good time with the supporting trio - Bajwa, Sanjay and Sarabh. We go deeper into their life and explore the nuances of their characters with powerful performances.

Overall an OK one time watch that could have been lot better.

Eh, No Thanks: Kanneda's Loser Legacy

Series tries to convince us Canada is some gritty gangster paradise. The story? Oh, it's a real snooze-fest-about as exciting as watching paint dry on a Vancouver sidewalk. Sure, we've all heard Canada's got a drug scene (what else do you do when your biggest export is apologies?), but this show cranks it up to eleven and then forgets to make it interesting. It's like the writers googled "Canada stereotypes," saw "drug hub," and called it a day. Newsflash: even a drug lord saga needs a pulse, folks.

And the Canada bashing doesn't stop there. We get it-Canadians are those polite, flannel-wearing weirdos who say "eh" and drown everything in maple syrup. But Kanneda paints them as such over-the-top bastards, you'd think Justin Trudeau was personally running a cartel out of Tim Hortons. Are they really this evil, or did the show just need a villain dumber than a bag of hockey pucks? The characters stumble around like they're auditioning for "World's Lamest Crime Boss," proving Canada's biggest crime might just be producing this series.

Oh, and the "loser" vibes? Off the charts. The show wants us to believe these Punjabi immigrants turned drug kingpins are some tragic heroes, but they're just whiny wannabes who'd lose a turf war to a flock of geese. Canada's already the land of perpetual second place-second to the U. S., second in hockey when it counts-so why make a series that's second-rate even by their standards? The pacing's slower than a moose crossing the Trans-Canada Highway, and the acting's so wooden you could build a log cabin with it. Eight episodes of this drivel? I'd rather shovel snow in Winnipeg.

Kanneda tries to be a gritty immigrant tale but ends up as a glorified troll job-on Canada, on storytelling, and on anyone who watches it. Save your time and bandwidth; this one's a bigger disaster than a Toronto rush hour in a snowstorm.

A Perfect Blend of Desi and Western Vibes

Kanneda is a brilliant fusion of desi Punjabi culture and the Western lifestyle, striking a perfect balance between the two. The series beautifully captures the essence of Canada while keeping its strong Punjabi roots intact. What makes it even more compelling is its deeper message-sometimes, circumstances shape a person's path, and not everyone sets out to be a gangster by choice.

The cast delivers an exceptional performance, bringing authenticity and depth to their characters. The storytelling is gripping, filled with moments that keep you engaged throughout. The cinematography and soundtrack further enhance the experience, making it a must-watch.

If you're looking for a series that gives you a Western vibe while staying true to its desi essence, Kanneda is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME

I recently watched Kanneda starring Parmish Verma, and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. The series attempts to showcase the Canadian backdrop but ends up relying heavily on tired and cliched portrayals of Canada as a "drug hub," which is both misleading and frankly, unnecessary.

The writing feels forced, with a storyline that lacks depth and meaningful exploration. Instead of presenting a nuanced narrative about Canada, the show leans on a one-dimensional and negative stereotype that feels both lazy and uninspired. The depiction of the country as nothing more than a drug haven is not only unoriginal but also harmful to the portrayal of such a diverse and vibrant nation.

As for the acting, Parmish Verma's performance is lackluster at best. His portrayal is flat, and the emotions don't feel authentic at all. There's no real chemistry with the other cast members, and it's clear that the characters are written with little thought, which makes the performances even harder to enjoy. The dialogues and scenes feel stiff, and you're left wondering if anyone put any real effort into bringing this series to life.

Overall, Kanneda fails to deliver both in terms of story and acting. It's a missed opportunity to explore something meaningful about Canada, and instead, it ends up being a disappointment in every sense. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for quality content.

Roller Coaster Ride - Amazingly done.

Enjoyed Kanneda, the music and bgm was really well done. The songs connected as well and had a great variety of emotions embedded in them.

Overall, Kanneda is a must-watch for thriller enthusiasts. With an engaging plot, exceptional performances, and masterful direction, it sets a new benchmark for OTT. If you love edge-of-the-seat storytelling with a strong emotional core, this series should be on your watchlist.

The pace reduces a bit but then picks up and the cast - Parmish Verma has redefined his action performances.

The background score plays a crucial role in heightening the suspense. The music complements the storyline without overpowering it, subtly guiding the audience through the emotional highs and lows.

Gem

Kanneda is an exceptional series that masterfully blends intense emotions, gripping storytelling, and high-octane action. From the very first episode, it hooks the audience with its compelling narrative, stunning visuals, and well-developed characters. The series is not just about action and drama; it explores deep emotions and complex relationships, making it a standout in recent times.

A Story That Resonates

The series takes viewers on an emotional yet thrilling journey, ensuring that every episode leaves a lasting impact. The screenplay is tightly written, keeping the pacing perfect and avoiding unnecessary filler. Each episode adds layers to the story, building tension and intrigue while keeping the emotional core intact. The balance between action-packed sequences and heartfelt moments is maintained throughout, making it a binge-worthy experience.

Nimma and Sarab - The Heart of the Series

One of the biggest strengths of Kanneda is its outstanding cast, particularly Nimma and Sarab. Their performances are nothing short of phenomenal. Nimma delivers a power-packed performance, bringing authenticity and depth to his character. His ability to convey emotions, whether through intense action scenes or quieter, more emotional moments, is truly remarkable.

Sarab, on the other hand, proves why he is one of the best in the industry. His screen presence is commanding, and he seamlessly blends intensity with emotion. His chemistry with Nimma is one of the highlights of the series, making their scenes together engaging and memorable. Whether it's tension-filled confrontations or moments of camaraderie, Sarab and Nimma elevate the show to another level.

Supporting Cast and Direction

Each character is well-developed, adding depth to the narrative and making the world of Kanneda feel rich and immersive. The cinematography is stunning, capturing both the raw intensity of action scenes and the emotional nuances of character interactions. The background score further enhances the viewing experience, perfectly complementing the tone of the series.

Final Thoughts

With phenomenal performances from Nimma and Sarab, a gripping storyline, and stunning cinematography, it sets a new benchmark for action-drama series. Whether you're a fan of thrilling action, deep storytelling, or character-driven narratives, Kanneda delivers on all fronts.

A Gripping Tale of Mystery and Emotion - "Kanneda" Delivers!

"Kanneda" is a compelling TV series that gracefully blends suspense, emotion, and cultural depth into a powerful narrative. From the very first episode, it hooks you with its mysterious storyline and layered characters, and it only grows more intense with each passing installment.

The series follows a thoughtful and well-paced structure, with the mystery unfolding through beautifully shot scenes and intelligent writing. The cinematography is stunning, especially in how it captures both the stillness and tension of pivotal moments. The background score is subtle yet effective, enhancing the emotional weight without overpowering the dialogue.

The lead performance is particularly noteworthy - the protagonist (played with nuance and restraint) is someone you root for, not because they are perfect, but because they are human. The supporting cast also shines, bringing authenticity to the world of Kanneda.

One of the standout features of this series is its ability to address larger themes - identity, loss, and truth - while maintaining a tightly-woven plot. It respects the intelligence of its viewers and never resorts to cheap twists or melodrama.

While a few episodes in the mid-season feel slightly slower, they serve to build the emotional stakes, making the finale all the more satisfying.

Verdict: If you're a fan of atmospheric thrillers with emotional depth and thoughtful storytelling, Kanneda is not to be missed. It's a series that honors tradition while exploring fresh, bold ideas - a rare blend in today's television landscape.

A Gem Series for Punjabi Audience

The series is amazing, many are criticizing it for the "Bindy Johal" characterisation, they already stated that its not based on bindy johal, its loosely based on 90s drug scene in Canada, Its an absolute entertainment, you can find some problems in it, but as a normal entertainment consumer, you wont find any problem. Moreover, I feel like Indians from other state might not feel the same thrill because of different culture and environment, the word "Kanneda" also comes from common Punjabi lingo, thats how most punjabi say Canada. Parmish Verma's acting was great according to my opinion, also the side characters played an important role in shaping the emotions. Its an action packed, and a lil bit emotional series. I loved it.

An overdose of overacting .

Every second dialogue rants "Punjab" or "Punjabi". It is extremely foolish to leave the place you love so much and then expect everyone else to respect your love to that place by repeatedly insisting it. The lead actors are overactors, who lack any direction, purpose or a theme to act for. Poorly scripted and repeatedly and excessively goes back into flashbacks, apparently meaningless. Famous actors like Arunoday Singh, Zeeshan Ayub, Ranvir Shorey are all wasted in the background and extra looking characters are given lead roles who carry the story to nowhere. The fun about an action film in Punjabi is easy to get popular as all punjabis essentially patronise it whether they like it or dislike personally. A waste of time.
