I've been a fan of SuperLemon since the early days. I have my favourite sketches, "FAM DRAM", "Drumgannon Kitchen Sink Baths", and of course, "GYAMMON."
So when I sat down to eat dinner and first stuck on FUNBOYS on Monday night, I knew what to expect.
Well, I was wrong. I was unprepared and ended up choking on a meatball from laughing so hard.
SuperLemon's unique sense of humour is there, as mental as it's ever been. But because the show is set against the backdrop of the beautifully boring Ballymacnoose, the jokes hit that much harder.
Dylan, Lennon, and James take up the screen each scene they're in and their characters are fully fleshed out and realised.
Callum, the sad sack with the rubber face, Jordan, who is as mentally developed as an undercooked microwave lasagna, and Lorcan, the eloquent bane of pigs.
Watching them together made me want to be a fun boy. 10/10
Dying for a season 2.

This has to be the worst tv show bbc NI has ever produced. I watched 10mins of it and had to turn it off for my own sanity, pure rubbish!!
If this gets another season it will be amazing, seriously save yourself part of your life you will never get back if you decide to watch this.
Funny is what this isn't, it drags on with 3 main characters who must have been picked at random, it's like a cheap unfunny version of the inbetweeners (which actually is funny)
Another reason why the bbc should give up on tv shows, you wouldn't need Netflix or paramount making something as awful as this. If it's on then then your tv!!

The swan scene was some of the funniest writing and imagery I've seen in years. Wonderful little universe these lot have conjured, neither bleak nor warm. Consistently witty with lots of surreal energy throughout, Ele McKenzie's performance has me in tears of laughter as does the rest of the cast.
I can see some stylistic influences, the isolation, surreal aspects and Irish patter of Father Ted as I definitely see a land bridge like connection between the Eoin McLove episode and these guys.
Looking forward to see what they'll get up to agai, I hope more episodes pronto pls thanks xo xo xo.xo.

Every so often, something arrives on the comedy landscape that feels not just new, but necessary. Funboys is that something-a gloriously surreal, aggressively original fever dream of a series that injects pure chaos and wit into a genre that's grown sluggish with predictability.
Created by and starring a duo (or possibly cult) of deranged visionaries, Funboys doesn't just tell jokes-it dismantles the very idea of what a joke can be. The show lurches from low-fi lunacy to moments of unexpected poetry, often within the same scene. The editing is unhinged. The logic is optional. The laughs? Frequent and involuntary.
These are comic minds completely unburdened by convention, and that freedom translates into something genuinely exhilarating. Watching Funboys is like discovering Vic and Bob all over again-if they'd grown up in a post-internet cave eating funfetti and VHS static. The parallels aren't shallow; like Vic and Bob, the Funboys operate on their own rules, rhythms, and reality, and once you're tuned in, you won't want out.
This is comedy as anarchy, as art, and-crucially-as actual fun. In a cultural desert of safe reboots and algorithm-written punchlines, Funboys is an oasis of absurd brilliance. They're not just a breath of fresh air-they're a full-blown psychedelic weather event.
I sincerely hope these comic outlaws go far. Then again, I hope they don't-because there's something beautifully feral about Funboys that feels like it could only come from the fringes. Long may they stay weird.

I'm an American randomly scrolling through the BBC iPlayer and stopped on this show. Boy, am I glad I did because this was fiercely original and funny. This might be a little reductive but the show is like Napoleon Dynamite combined with The Inbetweeners. It's awkward, weird, hilarious, endearing, and weirdly relatable. It's unique and brilliantly written. I sincerely hope there are more seasons. It won't be for everyone but if it lands for you it'll be 100% worth it.
Some of the actors are new or only have a few acting credits but they all bring their A game and I really want to see what other comedy they produce, whether it's more of this or something else. Bravo to the cast and crew that created this gem.
